***** Rangers vs St. Johnstone - Scottish Premiership *****

Recommended Posts

Teams have sussed us out now and we're easy to defend against. We either get the ball out wide and hit an aimless cross into the box. Or, we get the ball to the bye-line and cut it back to the penalty box. Either way, they just need 10 men in the box. We need to shoot more. Goldson is the prime candidate. Makes plenty of great runs and nothing seems on....other than a shot. He always passes it back or to the edge of the penalty spot.

Working not seen game, how did Cantwell do??

How was Hagi when he came on?

Todd Cantwell ran-well, passed-well, tackled-well. Decent showing but need to see him perform against better opposition before getting too excited. Lacks fitness and game time too obviously!

Hagi looked rusty and a tad nervous when he came on, understandably. Some wayward passes, as to be expected. Grew into the game though.....was showing some great vision and runs in the last 10 minutes.

He said he wants to add goals, then says we a bit heavy up front!

It's the general center forward play that seems to be off, if he can sort that then the goals will flow, nice enough up until the 18 yard line then it's like a collective brain fart.

I think part of the issue is we have so many players.

For our front 4 positions we have Kent, Cantwell, Tillman, Hagi, Morelos, Roofe, Colak, Wright, Lowry, Sakala, Arfield, Matondo, Lawrence.

That's 13 players for 4 positions. We need about 4-5 of them to leave.

Hagi defo got better the longer he was out but to be fair, actually thought he looked good when he came on today! Misplaced his first 3 or 4 passes mind you 🤣

I think a fully fit Hagi playing as a number 10 will make a huge difference.

He's the only player we have who is always looking to pass forward and has the vision to pick players out.

Cantwell played well IMO and worked very hard continually showing for the ball and showed he could be a very good signing.

Hagi came on did well showed he still has the vision and intelligence for a killer pass.

That said the team have to be much more ruthless than what we showed today obviously a clean sheet and 3 points is good but we should be wiping the floor with teams like St Johnstone at Ibrox especially when they are down to 10 men early in the game.

Wasn't blown away by us today. Controlled the game and we're comfortable but should probably be scoring and creating more against 10 men. Still think we're decent up until the final third and just missing that but of spark. Seems were close but.

I think a 4-1-3-2 would work better than a 4-2-3-1.
