Tillman

Recommended Posts

Might take dogs abuse for this but absolutely fuck splashing £5 million on him.

Wrong attitude, wanting a week on the ball, standing about waiting on it coming to him, wanting too many touches and useless when he did have it. Genuinely should've been hooked at half time.

Showed nothing against our biggest competitors for trophies or in Europe.

He's young and clearly has massive potential, but for £5m major questions need to be asked about why he's disappeared in every single game against them. They signed Jota for just £6m and Abada for half of what we'll pay for Tillman and they both terrorise us, so he needs to show that he can do the same to them. I still think we make money on him, so I'd sign him.

Imo, he’s got two matches to show us if he’s worth the money. He needs to dominate at least one of the games left against them. Some players do take time to get used to old firm games, but another two will be plenty of time. If no then he’s not worth signing.

He's getting way more criticism in here than he deserves. He's barely in the door and is only 20 yrs old.

£5m is actually not a lot of money for a player of his calibre.

It’s huge money for us, though. £5m on someone who potentially can’t do it against them? No thanks.

Likes a lot of time on the ball. Looks half arsed at times

needs to sort his attitude at times on the park as he’s just young and has a lot to learn despite him jogging about thinking he’s the finished article.

no doubt he’s got potential. £5m though?

He's played in what, 3 OF games? He's still very young.

Kent has played in about 25 OF games and has played well in maybe 3 of them. That's where the thread lies, not Tillman.

I’d try and extend his loan deal but I wouldnt be shelling out anymore than £3m for him. Looks a player but way too inconsistent and fails to ignite in the big games (although you could apply that to practically the entire first team squad).

we need to rebuild in the summer and a further £3-4m not spent on Tilman would help bring in fresh new talent to replace the dross we have.

I'm inclined to agree he isn't effective enough in the game for me today was another example of that albeit he was miles better than Kent or Cantwell but I just don't think we can afford to splash out a reported  £5m on one player it's debatable the manager utilises his abilities for his and the team's benefit .

They barely look as though they can actually read each others game in a tight one on one by demanding the ball and making an accurate pass.

Same when the likes of Tillman is in space and has the luxury of running at players or making a one two it's chronic how little options there are.

it has to be good for the club not for those who can't or won't show for a guy who has bags of talent in the here and now the lad is a player but the manager and his team mates do him or themselves no favours when we need players showing for the ball and there are no forward runs .

He may be a good talent but it's a stick or twist for the club as getting shot of the others who either don't want to be here or need moved on is as big a factor in how we go forward for next season.

All four, I think. And yeah, he is young. But if we’re looking at £5m we need to be confident he can do it against them. By the end of the season it‘ll be six, and if he hasn’t done it by then, I wouldn’t spend that kind of money on him.

Kent’s another issue. His performances shouldn’t be what determines if we sign Tillman, or not.

4. Been pish in all but 20 minutes of the 2nd half back in January.

So don't discuss Tillman because a completely different player was also shite?

Poor today but got equally poor service. By the time Jack has passed it back to Barasic and Tillman gets it, any good attacking shape has gone.

Still think these OF game bypass him at the start. Would like to see him coming on and finishing these matches where he’ll get more time and space and show his abilities. He’s not hugely effective unless he’s getting  touches around the penalty area.

Today doesn’t change anything for me though. Still worth the money to sign him.

Not for me. Hasnt shown up in any big game since USG.

A more consistent Aribo against the rest of the league is how it looks

This.

£5m for a player that turns it on against the dross but can’t step up to the intensity of games like today.

If we had CL money for the past few years I’d go for it but unless we can get a lot of money for the deadwood at the club we won’t have a huge amount to spend and that’s a lot on one player.

Can do well to unlock defences when they’re sitting deep against us - which is the type of player we haven’t had for a while.

Really struggles against an aggressive press and wants an extra touch or second on the ball.

Despite having a huge amount of talent and, potentially, having a moment of magic I wouldn’t start him at Hampden.
