This really isn't a defence of him, but he should still be getting the season imo.

That's 3 managers in a row that have came in halfway (or thereabouts) through the season and it's done us no good.

Next manager that comes in has to start with a clean slate next summer.

It's not a good reason for keeping him on, but it is a valid one.

No one will touch us if he doesn’t. Our best hope is the board realise they are out of their depth and take the year to get appointments behind the scenes right. With the wage bill under control and more dreadful contracts expiring, hopefully we have some room to manoeuvre properly next summer. Ideally with a new manager with a proper support system around him.

Thing is I only see the bad results coming against them and maybe the sheep. Think he's capable enough in Europe and against the dross.

Don’t know how you can say this when he’s won 9 in 22. Are you confident if going to Tannadice and winning?

Walter dropped loads of daft points tbf, with a much stronger team than ours. It was just what happened.

Only in the last decade or so have we started seeing unbeaten seasons and very high points totals (bar the odd anomaly).

He did but he had credit in the bank that would have lasted a lifetime or 6

We've just dropped points to a pish hearts team and struggled to get past a depleted Motherwell....That's before getting pumped out of the champions league at the first hurdle and getting smashed in the OF. Where is this confidence coming from?!

I dont think we have the players capable of playing the way he wants to so he needs to change to a style that fits our strengths or he wont be here much longer.

But how exactly is he wanting them to play?, I don't see any definite plan or system.

As you say though, he's hot yo play to their strengths and weaknesses.

He should have worked that out long before now.

Tav continues to play every minute of every game, despite horrendous form, a £6M striker is now 3rd choice, and a Romanian international making £22k a week is relegated to the B team.

If those are not the manager's calls then who's making them?

When you win 9 out of 22 games, the obvious answer is to make changes. If not to the players then to the formation. Sunday's game was a carbon copy of the last ten or so OF games with the same outcome. Baffling.

He didn't recruit Tav, Lawrence, Matondo, Dessers, McCausland.  All were pish on Sunday.

He picked then, but come on, you and I know that, so why doesn't he? Why doesn't he keep it tight and counter when playing at their paedodome instead of being wide open and cut apart?

Im not trying to defend him ( if will seem that way) but how many of the players that we got in were clements 1st 2nd or even 3rd choices ?

If we take the rumours at face value, he wanted sima , jordan , cordoba , galdames , kabadayi, rrahmani, puerta, nsoki, traore and even kenny mclean.

Now these could have all been shite as well but on paper a good few are a level above what we have .

I do think he's been shafted in that sense but he does have to find a way to get more out of what we have

Because keeping it tight and counter just invites them onto you and you get horsed

Not necessarily. Walter played it perfectly. You don't sit on your 18yd box, but equally you don't have Sterling maurading up the right flank.

Tav plays because there's been no one else, the £6m striker looks absolutely fucked and Hagi is out of his hands.

We have Sterling and Kasanwirjo.

Danilo has played about 20 minutes of football and scored. Stop spouting the shite narrative before giving him a chance.

If Hagi is willing to negotiate, it is 100% in Clement's hands.

He's shite and even slower than Cerny.

The thing is, he's not shite. He's away to play for his country ffs!

I'll tell you what was shite. The 11 players and subs who played on Sunday.

There's a reason he's never been a stick on first team player for us, he's not very good. He was pish for Alaves too.

Playing for Romania when your name is Hagi, isn't down to class or talent tbh.

And doesn't make Hagi better playing for them.

He played a central role well at the Euros. We've predominately played him on the wing where he was least effective.

Anyway, he has no chance with the arrival of Bajrami.

The point I was trying to make wasn't another argument about Hagi, but Clement's stubbornness to do the same thing with the same useless players (Tav, Matondo, McCausland). Something has to change.

Who is playing ahead of them and who is going on the bench ahead of McCausland?

People keep talking about how Hagi played well at the Euros but in reality he was completely forgettable. Started two of four games and got subbed off in both of them at the hour mark.

If he wasn’t a Rangers player nobody would even remember that he went to the euros, let alone even try to argue that he played well.

There is some amount of disdain in here for a kid who can read a game, kick equally well with both feet, give 100%, and has a proper attitude. Those attributes wouldn't have looked out of place on Sunday btw.

Sterling has been injured and Kasanwirjo has just joined.

Danilo looked miles off the pace when he's played. Barely a shadow of his former self. Any wonder why Iganame has jumped ahead of him.

The whole contract with Hagi is 100% out of Clements hands.

Back the manager with all 3 situations so far.

If we can't even afford to give a 3 title winning manager a full clean slate, then just who are we going to appoint instead

And there’s equally some amount of hyping and brown nosing of a player who’s never dominated a game of football for us and couldn’t wait to leave this Summer….
