Popular Post MisterC 12,737
So what's the thoughts on him then? Desperately unlucky for the own goal I thought, a wicked and needless deflection left him in the worst catch 22 situation. But other than I was impressed by him and I enjoyed a crunching challenge he put in on 11 mins, which prompted the inevitable propper defender line. He also won the majority of his duels including many with that striker they had who was a thorn in our side at times. Some good passes too and the right sort ie in front of the full back to run on to and generally I thought his distribution was decent. Overall a good debut, shame the own goal took some of the gloss off it but it was a pleasing performance for me. Amokachi 3,407
Looks to have a bit more intensity & aggression than what we’ve been used to, which wouldn’t be hard tbf.
graeme_4 37,363
Thought he was fine. Nothing spectacular. He, Tav and Souttar were all rubbish for their goal. Worrying if he’s injured as the said on Clyde, thought Clement was just easing him in. scottyscott1963
BookWorm 4,707
I am confident that this guy is the real deal and will be our best defender for a while. That was a title often bestowed on Goldson, and with him now gone I am happy with the way the manager is slowly building things. With Propper being the captain of his previous club I like to think Clement also took him on with that role in mind with Tav hopefully moving on sooner than later. scottyscott1963

Somemightsay7 3,090
Honestly don't think he will make any difference unless we make more changes in defence. Goldson was our best defender last season and we've replaced him. The problem is the other 3 aren't good enough. SeparateEntityMyArse

Moody Blue Legend 63,279
Actually thought he got pulled out of position a bit too easy at times. Maybe trying to adjust for others. plymouthranger, MacBoyd and The Godfather
ayro 3,477
Decent debut, unlucky with the OG and not sure about the booking as it looked a solid challenge from my seat. Would prefer to see him alongside Balogun for a few games rather than the continual rotation of CBs that we do but understand it just now with the intensity of fixtures. OrkneyTrueBlue 4
OG and yellow card aside he strolled it, that being said very little he could do for the OG and I don't believe it was a yellow. Perfect game and opponent to introduce him however he will be judged on bigger games, ie. against them and in Europe.
Big Al 55 9,503
Caught under ball in first minute, Motherwell should have scored (maybe offside). Very poor positioning for own goal, was 3 yards behind Souttar, should have been holding line. Good otherwise, hopefully go from strength to strength. stuart1994 4,532
Could be Maldini but if he’s got diddy’s like Tav, Souttar and Yilmaz beside him it’ll no make an ounce of difference.
KeyserSoze 15,227
He was bawling orders about. Tried to chat to Souter about something (waving his arms) was solid enough. Loved his slidies. Good start. If Tav and Souter did their jobs properly there would be no own goal

I'd argue that Propper may be able to bring Soapy Souttar up to his level, but even then i'm not sure. Tav? I just can't.

VanVeenRangers 2,703
I liked how he was aggressive and stuck into challenges. He was however running out of position to go chasing balls and better teams would play through that easily. plymouthranger

Hopefully it was just a one off as he was matching up to the Motherwell CF and knew they wouldn’t commit runners in behind… VanVeenRangers
AGM_72 4,033
Thought he was fine on Saturday. Liked his aggression, though can see how that may leave us exposed if he's dragged out of position - not got a great deal of recovery pace in the way that Balogun does. The own goal was unfortunate, multiple points of failure. We actually execute a decent press, their keeper punts it and Souttar should follow his man into midfield, he doesn't, and we then have a ridiculous scenario where their striker is able to bring the ball down unopposed in the centre of the pitch. Tav's then exposed 2v1, but should get closer to block the cross. Souttar's attempted clearance was poor and Propper caught unaware.
