Coop has initiated this thread due to complaints to forum managers about name calling and abuse - it may come as something of a surprise to you Ricardo - but some posters find your conduct on the boards as offensive as you seem to find old Fish's - and therefore to repeat Coop's warning... name calling and abuse will not be tolerated. We are talking about what people write...not what they think. the moderators have a hard job and i think are very fair, but if you dish it out be prepared to take it back, and dont go running to the mods, you can call me anything you like i it does not bother me, but dont go running to the mods if you get it back again, also wher have the bigoted and racist comments been made as i have not seen any on this board,as it would not be tolerated, and for people to have a go at coops in this thread is out of order. coops is one of the fairest guys i have ever come across and puts in lots of work for rangers media, and try to calm things down when the arguments are starting to get out of hand, and as him having favourites is rubbish as he treats everybody the same if you step out of line he will soon tell you, as he loves rangers media that much and will not see it harmed, also the rest of the mods do a great job and are nice people, and they dont jump in and warn people unless they overstep the mark, and to be honest they do a fantastic job. Some have it too strict and some too lenient, but the truth is EVERY single mod works in a team on every subject that rears its head - nothing is done without consultation. This consultation offers us every point of view on the said subject, a chance to see topics or posts from differing perspectives and helps keep "mistakes" to a minimum... but we are only human. We do make mistakes and perhaps we dont always make the most popular call, but we ALWAYS act in what we feel is the best course of action for the benefit of the Site and its members. What i will say, is that the majority of Moderation takes place behind the scenes. In most cases a quiet word is used via PM or e-mail, and usually is resolved painlessly and efficiently without the majority of posters even aware its happened. Other issues may call for a more "public" address and you will no doubt see this in the form of a public warn or warning post. A hell of a lot of work goes on behind the scenes by a dedicated core of people who give up their free time to do this, and i would ask that you give them all some latitude. As always every Mod is open to consultation and i would ask you if you have any issues you wish to discuss to please feel free to PM any one of us - after all it is our job to make this Site the experience you hope it will be. Things like this should be left to PM to deal with sensibly, I'm sure the Admins/Mods are decent people and help out if they can but at the end of the day its their board and their decision. If you don't like their rules or the rules of the forum go elsewhere. These guys have a life of their own and still are willing to help out here in their free time. My belief is that if you don't deal with a cancerous growth by cutting it out competely, it will simply grow back one of these days - worse than before. If you are happy to accept that, then you are of course entitled to your opinion. I just happen to think it is an opinion based on moral weakness. In addition to this, if you are going to have a forum which deals with unsavoury topics like sectarianism and bogotry, then you better believe that you are going to have arguments and get some vitriolic statements from those who believe that it is still okay to be bigotted and/or sectarian. So it's okay to stand back and allow The*ish to boast that he will celebrate his right to freedom of speech by shouting "F**k the Pope" but it's not alright for me to call him a twat when he does it? Ask yourself this question: - who's more likely to harm our club's reputation. Me or him. Then you can get back on your moral high horse and chide me some more for using colourful language.
