lancedeangers1 287
I'm confident that Legia will receive a fine for this as it was so clearly an honest error and the fact he only came on for the last few minutes. The action had no bearing on the result whatsoever. I'm sure sporting integrity fc will be doing their victims of an injustice best though in order to have them thrown out. tm91 2,860
Jesus I'd be embarrassed if we got fucked 6-1 and then got through on a technicality - and that's without the fact that this has already happened once before. The guy came on for four minutes at the end of the second leg after six goals and two missed penalties, for fuck sake. If they accept this it's beyond shameful, even for them. hammer93 9,778
Not a chance will they get through, it's a clerical error, at most a fine would suffice. As for sion it was well documented before a ball was kicked that they had players who wereserving lengthy bans in Switzerland but their mad cap president claimed they were illegibleto play in Europe, the papists had their letter of complaint written before a ball was kicked. don logan 4,158
Common sense surely will be applied. The Polish FA will have as much sway at UEFA as the SFA if not more. sion were an entirely different basket of vipers.

NitPicker14 0
http://edition.cnn.com/2004/SPORT/football/02/24/newcastle.bowyer/NEWCASTLE, England -- Lee Bowyer will miss Newcastle's next six European games because of a mix-up with UEFA over an outstanding suspension.Newcastle failed to name Bowyer in their list of eligible players for European matches at the start of the season, meaning the ban earned while the midfielder was a Leeds player has only just come into force.Newcastle had hoped to include Bowyer in their squad for Thursday's UEFA Cup clash with Valerenga of Norway. But UEFA said on Tuesday that Newcastle, who have played six games in Europe this season, had misunderstood the rules."For a player to serve his ban, he needs to first be listed as an eligible player," a UEFA spokesman said. "This is nothing new."Newcastle however said in a statement on their Web site that they were "extremely disappointed" by UEFA's decision."We expected fair play and a common sense approach but now further appeals appear futile," the statement said.Bowyer earned the ban during Leeds United's UEFA Cup clash with Malaga in December 2002. He joined Newcastle last May after a brief spell with West Ham.
JCDBigBear 8,337
If the player was given a 3 game ban from last season and missed both games against the Irish team plus the 1st game against the tims, then he will have served the 3 match suspension.
