The Parkhead side's stumble in recent weeks has allowed the Light Blues to position themselves two points behind their traditional rivals at the top of the SPL table and they have games in hand against the bottom two sides, St Mirren and Gretna. Celtic, who have cantered to the championship in the last two seasons, take on both the Borderers and Rangers at Parkhead within the space of four days. Strachan is well aware of how crucial those two games can be for his side's title aspirations. He said: "Everybody said they wanted a closer league competition and now we need to show a new type of quality. "In the last two seasons we have been in front from the beginning. "Now we are hanging in there, two points ahead of Rangers but having played two games more. We need to destroy hibs today to boost our confidence and scare the hell out of the celtic players. Then stuff them at celtic park.
