McBoyd 355
At one point we were doing pretty well in our CL group, then we went off in the uefa cup run.. Then it all went downhill after the UEFA CUP FINAL.. its like the players just lost the spark then..
Gaffbear 4,096
We didn't strengthen where it was needed in June/July. We penny pinched with Davis. We kept Weir(great servant but too old) and Dailly. We kept Adam,Broadfoot and McCulloch We signed a striker who can't score in Miller We play a striker who can't score up front himself. We play defenders and strikers in midfield . We don't play the youth who are better than our first team players. We let Buffel go and try to ship out Gow(our only football players) We lost Cuellar and Ferguson . We penny pinched with Loovens and got Bougherra too late. We play negative football with limited ability players
only one bobby russell 0
IMO, after the sale of hutton. In the first half of last season our main attacking threat came down the right. Hutton left and that all stopped because no one else stepped up as an attacking option. I would say Novo came closest and thats a depressing fact in itself. Frankie 505
The manager has made the wrong decisions and must carry the can along with the cowards that are our players.
Briton 394
The manager must take the blame for this defeat...he put that terrible team onto the pitch.

Boab 73
We got it wrong as the UEFA Cup Final was papering over the cracks and those weren't fixed over the summer with creative midfielders. Gaffbear is also especially right
papaguy51 912
As soon as Hutton left, it totally changed the whole team.

CanadianGer 1
Our own luck has made us forget that this team isnt and never was good enough. We rode our luck to the uefa cup final and it paid off for us, but it also lead to us thinking we were better than we are. The team is now being found out (and has been since fiorentina if not before). We are not anywhere near a good team. Correct Kev. I would think if you review the posts from last season, there were a lot of us pointing to the midfield in particular as being a major weakness. There were a lot of people saying the team was riding its luck. And there were a lot of people saying that Murray wasn't making smart business decisions. I would say those opinions were correct on all counts. I remember speaking with a lawyer I was working with on a deal (who was a Celtic fan) right after Helicopter Sunday. After taking some good banter from me for about 10 minutes he ended by saying, "Both teams have been terrible this year. Neither club is heading in the right direction. The fans are deluded if they think otherwise. The advantage Celtic have is, we just lost the league so we will do better admitting it." The problems at Ibrox have been there since before Murray appointed Alex McLeish and they just get more and more evident.
