Boab 73
RANGERS shock exit from Europe will impact on them for the next FIVE years. Their record in recent seasons has seen the Ibrox club steadily climb Uefa's co-efficient table, and they gained 23 points for their run to the Uefa Cup Final. The rankings are based on the previous five seasons, and Rangers had got high enough to put them on the verge of a Pot 2 spot had they reached the Champions League Group Stage. But they will pick up just over a quarter of a point for this season's efforts, courtesy of the draw in the first leg against Kaunas. And that will drag their average down until 2014. It could also have an impact on Scotland's ranking which deter-mines at which stage our clubs enter European competition. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/displa..._coefficent.php

ScotBear 144
This is key for me. It's not just about this season from a footballing perspective, the financial loss and the possibility of players leaving or being unable to attract new players........... It's the 5 year hit we take on our co-efficient which increases the possibility of european disappointments in future. Imagine if we had manouvered ourselves into a position where we were a pot 2 side in the Champions League ! We would have been giving ourselves a strong chance of establishing ourselves as a more regular last 16 outfit. That chance and the opportunity of progress has now been smashed to pieces due to one mans inability to identify glaring problems with the team that everyone could see.
