Has the Record ever got anything of significance right???

All they are doing is guessing what David Murray is saying. And lets be honest we are all thinking the same so this is not anything sensational.

Remeber this is a newpaper that has talked up the IRA and republican scumbags in the past.

Why the fuck are any of you buying it anyway!!

Fringe men such as Boyd, Daniel Cousin, Alan Gow, Andy Webster and Chris Burke are all facing uncertain futures

FFS, it's because of the Daillys, Adams and McCullochs - respectively Smith's stubbornness in persisting to play them - that we are in our current situation not because of Boyd, Cousin or Gow.

Yes, the Record has. For all it's a terrible paper, the football stories are rarely made up from nothing and are written based on what the journalists hear through their own network.

Given that this was written by Keith Jackson, I would believe there is some truth to it although there are no quotes so the finer details may just be his own opinion.

lets be honest here if boyd was sold can you imagine the uproar it will cause selling one of the big fan favorites at the club oh god I would dread to think of the mayhem!

Do you think SDM cares? He didn't mind the Uproar should we decide to Sell Hutton, there was no uproar, he didn't mind the uproar should we sign Miller, I missed the demonstrations after that went through?

I hope to feck we don't sell Boyd but it wont be because they care what the fans think

selling boyd or cuellar would be the last of the last straws for all at rangers it would not be popular with any rangers fan.

See to quite honest this is just a load of amateurish fishin By Keith Jackson, no cigar Keech ! What are these overpaid journos gettin paid for nowadays, sittin watchin forums all day ????

RANGERS' Champions League fall guys are fighting to save their Ibrox careers after plans were drawn up to conduct a mass cull before the end of the month.

Record Sport understands chairman Sir David Murray will order manager Walter Smith to dump at least half a dozen duds before the transfer window closes in just over three weeks.

Murray and Smith will put on a united front tomorrow when they meet furious fans at Murray Park and promise that star man Carlos Cuellar will not be sold off to cover the cost of Tuesday night's £10million calamity in Kaunas.

But without the strain of a European campaign to look forward to, a string of fringe men will be axed in the coming weeks as the manager is told to trim his first-team squad accordingly.

Smith's most prolific goalscorer, Kris Boyd, could spearhead the exodus with a transfer to Cardiff City - in a move which would see Dutch defender Glenn Loovens arrive at Ibrox.

That proposed swap deal appeared to be dead in the water when Rangers signed another central defender, Madjid Bougherra, from Charlton last week. But it will be reactivated in the next fortnight as Smith remains keen on Loovens and Boyd's name is still at the top of Cardiff's wanted list.

Smith is currently working with a squad of 27 senior pros and will have to make substantial cuts to streamline his group now a European cash bounty has been blown following that humiliating defeat to Lithuanian minnows FBK Kaunas.

Fringe men such as Boyd, Daniel Cousin, Alan Gow, Andy Webster and Chris Burke are all facing uncertain futures but Smith may also face some big decisions over other, more regular, performers.

Scotland veterans Christian Dailly and Davie Weir recently signed new one-year deals but one or both could now be deemed surplus to requirements.

Neither Jean Claude Darcheville nor Brahim Hemdani played any part in Tuesday night's disaster but they could also be ushered out the door as Rangers face up to the consequences of losing UEFA's millions.

Cuellar remains Rangers' most sellable asset and it's believed a string of top English Premiership clubs, including Newcastle and Aston Villa, would be willing to part with as much as £10m to take the Spaniard south.

But Murray will tomorrow attempt to ease the growing concerns of supporters who fear Cuellar could be the next big name to leave when he addresses them at a question and answer session.

It's expected both the chairman and Smith will make clear their intention to turn down any offers for the former Osasuna defender.

Rangers will net £80,000 from UEFA as a consolation prize for their Champions League failure - while Celtic bag an extra £2.5m in TV revenue money. :sherlock:

The problem we have with trying to off load shite is the fact that no other team will pay good money for it.

We will get umpteen crap bids for the players we try to drop and the rest will just get a pay off by Bain and told good hunting.

thommo?

Yep. I don't rate a CM that can't pass the ball forward and is desperate to get rid of the ball as soon as he gets it. A goal on the night doesn't disguise his poor performance.

We are crying out for creativity in the midfield, it's either him or Barry that goes...

You have a choice of an injury prone player who simply isn't the force he was , or a much younger player of great potential who is going through a rough spot. For me , it would have to be full time for Bazza.
