Blue Stars Bearette 1
did you read about that this morning couldn't believe it its in all the papers could only find it online in the Rhecord though Furious St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson blasts 'winking' referee after controversial penalty Aug 11 2008 By Hugh Keevins GUS MacPHERSON accused Scotland's referees of having a hitlist of managers and alleged that Eddie Smith had winked at him after awarding Celtic the penalty that beat St Mirren. The Buddies boss exploded after Celtic beat his side with a hotly-disputed award that also saw defender Will Haining sent off. The same referee was at the centre of a row last season when he gave Celtic a fiercely-contested free kick which allowed Shunsuke Nakamura to score the only goal of the game at Love Street. http://www.<No links to this website>/sport/footbal...86908-20692767/

Blue Stars Bearette 1
Saints keep up the ref battle Gus MacPherson hopes ref Eddie Smith will relent over red card and ban faced by Will Haining Exclusive by Thomas Jordan ST MIRREN today lodged an appeal over Will Haining's controversial sending-off in the 1-0 defeat at Parkhead. Referee Eddie Smith showed the Saints stopper a straight red card, and awarded Celtic what turned out to be a match-winning penalty after Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink tangled with Haining on the hour mark. It was a decision that turned the game on its head as Barry Robson converted from the penalty spot to net the only goal of the game.
