What kind of training do they do at Murray Park?

I ask this question because we have players in the side who cannot pass the ball, cannot beat a man, and who this early in the season look heavy.

Take Boyd as an example. He has been told for two years now that he has to improve certain elements of his game. ie his work rate, first touch and perhaps beat a defender with some skillful footwork: maybe lose a couple of pounds as well. He knows what he has to do but we haven't seen any improvement in any of the above skills.

If I was Boyd I would be looking at the video of Dado Pruso and the way he compensated for his lack of pace by skillfully throwing defenders off balance by his little shuffle stops before quickly moving off again. He was brilliant at it. Now why doesn't Boyd spend day after day getting balls hit at him to control with one touch and then practice the little shuffle stops with a defender up his back. I would make him practice until he was doing shuffle stops automatically on his way to the piss house in the middle of the night.

We have supposedly some of the best coaches at Ibrox but on the evidence we are seeing, we are being outplayed by teams like Falkirk and Dundee Utd who pass and move better than us. It seems that all they do is play five a side and knock lumps out of one another. Do we see any creativity or imagination with set plays; the only set play we saw last year was McGregor lumping the ball up the park to McCulloch on the left who was supposed to head it on to anybody in the middle. Doooooh.

I'm ready to see some of the youngsters geta chance. If we can't afford to buy decent players then do a Fergie and put two or three of our best in the side the way he did with Beckham,Scholes and the Neville Bros.

You can only do so much with a limited amount of talent.

Falkirk and Hibs have less talented players than us, and still do the basics a fair bit better than ourselves.

Infact all teams in the SPL, bar perhaps Celtic, have less talented players, yet last season many teams out played us. If one of the better footballing SPL sides got a bit of cutting edge about them, then they would challenge in this league.

well said, Badger.

Without a doubt we should have better players than other squads...just haven't seen it in at least 3 seasons and that is with 3 different managers. How much more talented are they?

bunch of them were out at the casino absolutely wasted making arses of themselves. Lee mculloch is as big a dick in rl as he is on the park. only ones not there was Carlos cuellar, Barry Ferguson, Kenny miller and nacho novo but the rest of them were absolutely pished out their mind after that spectacular performance on Saturday. Not one of them had an ounce of professionalism in their body, shouting and acting arses. Would have been nice to see jim duffy wallop that plank mculloch as he kept annoying Duffy and his wife.
