Blue Stars Bearette 1
SSN Walter Smith is 'disappointed' Carlos Cuellar is leaving Rangers, but plans to reinvest the money in his team. Cuellar is discusing a move to Aston Villa after the Premier League club triggered a 10million euros (£7.8m) release clause in his contract. The Spanish defender, who had also been linked with Newcastle United, impressed during his debut campaign at Ibrox after arriving last summer. However, following Rangers' shock elimination from the UEFA Champions League last week, Cuellar was tipped to leave the club. Surprised Though Gers boss Smith is upset by the centre-half's decision to move on, he is eager to use the money from Cuellar's sale to improve his squad. "This has come as a surprise and I am disappointed," Smith told the club's official website. "Carlos Cuellar has been a great player for the football club and inevitably there has been speculation about him playing in the Premiership. "The club has received a substantial uplift in fee and we will now reinvest in the team."

TMWWBK 0
We wouldnt have had to sell him to reinvest if the senile idiot actually bought a midfielder or two instead of three strikers. Or if he could have actually beaten Kaunas.

MikeBlue 136
The only positive thing I can take from this is at least there's time to get a replacement. Not much of a compensation, I admit and whether the money is well spent remains to be seen
