Polo 1,455
Do Celtic Boys Club have any kind of debts? E.g. outstanding compensatory payments? I imagine they spiral out of control. What's That?
Bluedell 14
Ours is currently £21 million and rising and Celtic's is £3.5 million. I'm sure that is it. Theirs is £6.7m. They tried to reduce it by coming up with some new definition of it.

radlord 24
I think it depends on your definition. It's around 20-odd million but about 50m was basically transferred to MIH. I think.

Imodium 423
On the debt - if JJB folds does anyone have an idea of what would happen in terms of monies we are due or have been paid? Would love to see the balance sheet at Ibrox even just to sneak a wee look at the weekly wage bill to see what we are facing for the next few years. Bluedell 14
Our net debt was £21.6m in June and is probably standing at over £30m at the moment. This will continue to increase over the next few months then reduce again when the season ticket cash comes in.
Frankie 505
Unless we sell players we will report a debt of at least £30million in the summer... The failure to qualify for the CL (or even the UEFA Cup) and the questionable dealings in the transfer market will prove extremely problematic for our club. Would love to see the balance sheet at Ibrox even just to sneak a wee look at the weekly wage bill to see what we are facing for the next few years. Rangers entered a 10 year deal with JJB worth 48million quid back in 2006. An initial payment of 18million was made , with subsequent payments of 3million (rising should certain targets be met). Monies received will remain with the Gers an should JJB go into administration, the merchandising rights will revert back to Rangers. Murray said as much at the last AGM i believe. gronaldo 38
Here's a reasonably objective overview of the situation - http://www.football-finances.org.uk/rangers/debt2.htm It puts the figure at £22 million, but as they say, the worrying thing is that there was no improvement on the debt last season despite having a fantastic year on the pitch so there's some serious cause for concern over what the figure will be at the end of this season.
