James Beattie to Stoke

Stoke have signed James Beattie on a two and a half year deal. Could be a good player for them, he will absolutely relish the aerial bombardment that Stoke inflict on their opposition and has shown that he can take a decent free kick whilst at Sheffield United.

However, the key question must be, why does he always sign for teams that play in red and white stripes? Southampton, Sheffield United, now Stoke. A move to Sunderland in the next transfer window seems more than likely.

How much?

Tbh, I was never really a fan of Beattie. I see they want Lita to replace him. I'd rather have Lita than Beattie.

'A fee that could rise to £3.5m'!

Hugely excessive for a guy who is 30. I agree with you about Lita though, he could be a really useful player for a Premiership club. The guy is still relatively young and has unbelievable pace and power.

His loan spell at Norwich showed he could score regularly if given a run of games, and he took his goal really well on Friday night.

If someone picks him up for the £350,000 quoted, what a bargain that will be.
