simplythebest 11,453
Anyway there's no chance of Smith bringing Velicka out of the cold all of a sudden to play this match. I have a bad feeling he'll remain loyal to Miller. Anything is possible under Wally - Velicka made the bench this weekend. Play Boyd up at Pittodrie and it will be like playing with 10 men, 9 infact as Ferguson will play. Well thanks to Smith i don't know enough about Velicka to say if he'd be any different from Boyd in that sense. And surely we shouldn't be playing the long ball game anyway that you refer to Muff? Muff 245
We shouldn't but we contiune to. We see it all the time, especially in matches like what Saturday is going to be like - we are so predictable. There for Boyd shouldn't start. We saw it at Tynecastle, Fir Park, Tannadice for the 60 odd minutes, against celtc at Ibrox - Aberdeen will be at us from the word go, we'll be under pressure, we'll resort to the long wall which we do every match and having Boyd in the team is absolutely pointless. He wont out jump, out muscle, out pace, hold the ball up, pull out wide....Kenny Miller will be running about like a headless chicken, trying to flick every second ball, the other ones he'll either miss control, give away possession or eventually find a team mate. FlippinEck 3,702
the last time aberdeen beat celtic then played us the following week, we beat them 5-0 (at ibrox), they had beaten celtic 3-2 at celtic park... an omen perhaps?

Muff 245
Which is understandable considering he played the majority of his games at both Fortuna and AZ at RB and that's where Advocaat signed hm to play.

Anyway, it was Ricksen's own fault that his Rangers career collapsed because he went back to his usual alcoholic self, but i still thought he was better in midfield. MarkyMitch 4
McGregor Broadfoot Weir Bougherra Whittaker Davis Mendes Fleck Novo Velicka Naismith Velicka instead of Boyd?? I'm sure you have your reasons why but I can't understand it! Boyd scored twice at the weekend and is the top scorer in the SPL. His link up play has improved but we all know it still needs to get better but to be honest I just can't see why anyone would drop him!!
