Gid 46
Hey techies! My wireless internet connection cuts out for a second or two at random intervals but then reconnects by itself. Any thoughts on the cause and/or how it could be rectified.

barkie 201
you can on some what router is it ? download netstumbler that will tell you all the wireless networks in the area and what strength, most routers default to use channel 6 and 11 i have 3 people next to me using channel 6. Also update your router if it needs it.

barkie 201
Connect your laptop / desktop via ethernet cable to your netgear type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar on explorer etc. User name will be Admin password will be password Should be a option like wireless settings or something go into that and look for channel and change it to something else like from 6 to 9. Router should reset (if not switch off) and come back on and then try your wireless again

TinyPaedoLikesTinyPeople 0
Netgear WGT624 Sometimes I get an error message saying someone has the same IP address. Is your network passworded? if not then do so in the netgear control panel/ router control panel, basically if theres more than one person/computer connected to it then it's having problems with the reception . The closer you are to the router the better , i had mine about 20 feet away and got 89% reception and my dad had his about 5 feet away his reception was 87% so really just depends how decent your wireless networking card is.
