Danny
My God what a player this guy is. I'd never really heard of him till Spurs grabbed him from Wigan, and I'd assumed the price tag was the usual nonsense of the overinflated prices in the Premiership, but he was just absolutely outstanding in the DM position yesterday. He constantly won balls in the midfield, and growled around like the best of Gattuso and Makelele combined. Won motm. Spurs have unearthed a gem there, and 12M may be a 'bargain'. papaguy51
I'd heard of Palacios just before Wenger took him on trial before rejecting him and 'recommending' him to Steve Bruce at Wigan. Deceptively quick, strong as an ox and totally dominating in midfield. Why the fuck did Arsene let him go, I wonder? Palacios and Fabregas in midfield would be superb. Muff
Said it a month or two ago and I'll continue to say it - I think Palacios is world class. He was the best player on the park yesterday. Strong in the tackle, won almost every challenge, covered every blade of the park, got forward and wasn't scared to have a ping, broke up play, nice neat, crisp passing....exactly what Spurs have been missing. papaguy51
I can't believe he's not actually scored yet in the Premiership, I found that rather surprising.

He is the type of player Arsenal have been crying out for since Vieira left. Someone to just sit, break up the play and give the ball to the footballers in the team. Denilson's a good player but doesn't have the physical presence to play the holding role. Can't be arsed making a new thread but how good is Rafael for Man Utd going to be! I have never seen an 18 year old with such awareness and compusore. It's like he's been in that team for 10 years, mad thing is his brother is meant to be even better
Chookes
I never really paid attention to him until Man Utd were constantly linked with him. The guy is a class act and he showed many glimpses of that yesterday. Me and a mate were watching it on a good stream and and in a 2 minute spell he broke up 3-4 Arsenal attacks in a row. Prices may be inflated in the EPL but for £4.5M less than what they paid for Bent, he may actually be a bargain. He's exactly the kind of player Redknapp needs at Spurs, tough tackler, good on the ball and looked very comfortable in the middle of the London derby. Chookes
mad thing is his brother is meant to be even better I read that too but I think because of injury Fabio has only made one start. In a couple of years they will be fantastic for United.

Cumbria_blue
I can't believe he's not actually scored yet in the Premiership, I found that rather surprising. He's a defensive midfielder though, not really his job to score. Though he has got some shot on him as he showed a few times yesterday.

I really thought that Palacios would have got off the mark by now.

I really thought that Palacios would have got off the mark by now. I suppose, though most of Lescotts are from set pieces, and he has a massive head that can't really miss the ball. I'm just saying that its quite rare for holding midfield players to score. Hemdani and Thomson were with us for over a year before either of them scored. But I think if he continues to have a few long range pots at goal like he did yesterday he will score eventually, because he can strike a ball quite well.
