Boab
Meanwhile, morning reports today linked Rangers with a summer move for Hearts skipper Robbie Neilson. The 28-year-old defender is out of contract at the end of the season and can leave Tynecastle for free on a Bosman. Smith gave right-back Neilson his first Scotland cap when he was national boss. bluenose4life
Is there any player we're not linked with? I think the main question is - is he Rangers class?

mccoist355
Not again, how many mediocre to crap right backs does Walter want. The big question is why Whittaker - who was a hell of a player in his Hibs days - has not fulfilled his potential???? Do we blame the lad himself or incompetence at Murray Park? That lad had it all at Easter road even if he was a raw talent.
Poetry_In_Blue
Not again, how many mediocre to crap right backs does Walter want. How do you know Walter actually wants him and it's just not paper talk? If he was wanted, and could sign on a free in the summer then why hasn't he signed a pre-contract agreement already? He is being linked to us because Walter gave him his first Scottish Cap, but even in the Scotland set up Broadfoot is ahead of him at right back, so with Broadfoot and Whittaker still being Ranger's players, and young McMillan who is probably better than any of those three out on loan I take this piece of the article with a big pinch of salt. Muff
Wally has always been a fan of Robbie Nielson. Personally, I think he's up there with Ross Tokeley as one of the worst footballers in the whole of Scotland - Broadfoot and Whittaker and that's pretty embarrassing. I wouldn't be suprised to see him sign on a bosman, eat away at our wages and never play - either that, or Broadfoot into the middle and Nielson at RB
J_RFC87
He's probably the worst right back in the SPL. A dark day indeed if we sign him!

Ah so as the press quotelessly link the player to Walter smith every transfer window then that means he likes him....strange he has never signed him in any of those transfer windows then as he is such a big fan and he would be easily affordable......... Poetry_In_Blue
Still better than Neilson though in ability don't play them they can't get the experience, look at Fleck, and if it is in Walter's plans to move Broadfoot to the centre then Whittaker should be given the chance and McMillan could push him for a place, as I said in an earlier post, totally taking this rumour with a pinch of salt. Hell even Lowing is better than Neilson!
Muff
I'd be playing McMillan ahead of both Broadfoot and Whittaker and if Whittaker and Broadfoot are our 1st choice RB and CB next season, then we are in trouble as both are absolutely brutal. Shearer
McMillan!!!! He now has SPL experience! I would like to see McMilan used, however I'm not sure that he is ready to be our number 1 right back. He was terrible in his first game for Accies and ended up not coming out after half time. It can be a big step up from the reserves to the first team, which s why I would be happy to see him get some more experience at Accies or another club before the boo boys slaughter him for every mistake. That lad had it all at Easter road even if he was a raw talent. The thing is Whittaker lost his position at Hibs because he had not a clue how to defend, wasn't at all good at crossing the ball and had a poor success rate in completing passes; in short he had been found out too many times. This is why Hibs fans laughed at us for buying him and for giving them a couple of million.
BritishBear
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, paper talk but please no, remeber Lee Martin ripping him apart at Ibrox and the twat was eventually sent off. Very limited footballing ability and no pace. Hopefully his fan (WS) will not be here next season. Come the summer the 3 most important signings will imo be a RB, LB and a CB. We will free up a lot of wages, so even quality Bosmans/loans should be well within our reach. Break the cycle, stop signing crap and stop paying them too much.
