McCulloch talking pish again

Lee McCulloch insists defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic this weekend at Parkhead would not kill off Rangers' SPL title hopes.

But the Ibrox utility man admits mounting another comeback in the title race would be difficult if they do leave Celtic Park empty-handed.

A 1-0 loss in the last Old Firm derby at Ibrox in December left Rangers trailing their arch-rivals by seven points but Walter Smith's men have since reduced the deficit to just two points.

"You don't want to go there and lose but I wouldn't say the season would be over," said McCulloch.

"There is a lot of football left, a lot of big games to be played.

"We are obviously going to go there and try to win but it's going to be difficult and they have the mental strength.

"I wouldn't say it would be over if we lost - but it might be close to over."

A second win of the season in the east end of Glasgow would allow Rangers to leapfrog Celtic into pole position in the table.

And McCulloch insists such a scenario would tip the balance of power in Rangers' favour on the back of an impressive run of results.

"It would put the momentum on our side because our form has been good lately," he said.

"But, in Old Firm games, form doesn't matter.

"If we were to win, it would set us up but we know how difficult it's going to be."

Rangers fell at the final hurdle last term when they lost the title to Celtic on the final day of the season.

But McCulloch believes a strong mentality can make all the difference this time around.

Asked what inspired their recent turnaround in fortunes in the SPL, he said: "I think it's belief in each other, hard work and ignoring a lot of the things that have been said.

"We have gained a mental strength from the start of the season, which has been needed.

"We maybe didn't have that at the end of last season and that's why we didn't get over the finishing line.

"It's slowly starting to come and we are looking forward to this game."

McCulloch has not been a regular fixture in the first team this season but is more than willing to be thrown into the action on Sunday.

"Personally, I'm ready to start," he said.

"Training as a team has been good this week and we are ready for the game.

"It will be a tough game but we are looking forward to it."

He makes me want to throw up.

Walter PLEASE gag him.

I really hope Walter does not think like this otherwise we all know that he McCulloch will be at def mid and Misser up front on his own. If this happens the best we can get is a draw.

Rent-a-quote speaks once again.

I think he'll play on Sunday - unfortunatley.

He's always ready, just like he was ready to replace Ferguson, just like he was ready to replace Cuellar, just like he was ready to lead the line up on his own, just like he was ready to play on the left or right....I wish he'd shut the fuck up. It's now happening every week with this dumpling.

If McCulloch starts on Sunday, we all know what will happen.

* Give away possession in stupid areas

* Commit far too many fouls

* Early booking

* Get caught out as his positioning in the central area is horrific

* Burst up the park chasing balls, finding himself out of position, whilst Ferguson and Mendes are also going forward, leaving a massive gap

* Putting his team mates under pressure

* Getting out jumped

This is almost as funny as his 'Kris Boyd is a good lone front man' one

I hope the players don't give up if we lose, but I hope the fear of losing propels them to victory.

Don't want them going into the match thinking that losing is in anyway acceptable.

Muff

It will be & I hate to say this-IRONIC if the big dumpling gives an avoidable free kick outside the area leading to Nakadog scoring.Does WS actually ever think about this.

Hemdani is ideally suited to the job-but he wouldnt leave so is banished.

When you think about it-Rangers offered him the deal-Why should he just jump up & off sticks cos SDM says so.

Players who have come from France are never the wealthiest-they are pretty poorly paid in relative terms-hence Cousin wanting away as he has never made much from the game & BH signing for us.Its about making as much in a short space of time to maximise income for the rest of their lives.
