Hi guys

This is Dimitrios. I am new in this forum and i just registered to boost my research. I am doing academic research (Doctoral thesis) on Rangers and Celtic community initiatives and i need your opinions. Could you please fill in this 5-minute questionnaire? You get entered into a prize draw for match tickets for completing the survey too!

I have a comment on your poll. It may have been better to put "A sponsor who pays the club, eg Carling."

I would prefer Unicef on it than Carling, but not at the cost of the sponsorship that carling provides, if you see what I mean?

Survey done.

I know mate at the end of the day is all about business. However do not forget that Rangers is a huge club (finalist last year on Uefa Cup) can find sponsors without selling the front part of the Jersey. For instance, Barcelona is sponsored by Nike and uses Unicef on the top. I assume that Nike chose to invest heavily to Barca as it might be good partnership to associate with, and probably a good move to cover up the whole child labour rumors. See also the Joga bonita program.

Sports are proffesional nowday, and i like it when you have interesting views.

Thanks Bluedell

I don't think we could go without the sponsor money to be honest, we need as much as we can get in this climate.

Done, had to make a few comments at the end (More like a story) as to why I disagreed with Rangers joining forces with celtic to fight things such as sectarianism and bigotry.

Me too.

We join with a bunch of sectarian bigots to fight sectarianism and bigotry?

Doesn't make much sense to me.

Thanks guys. For you how are against the idea of teaming up with Celtic, what might be the alternative? Do your own social campaign?

If Celtic are up for actual co-operation then Rangers should be as well.

Done your survey, good luck with it.

(also go Stirling Uni!)

Well, like you questionnaire asks, I am hurt when my club or fellow supporters are brandished bigots for singing certain songs or criticised for this, that and the next thing.

I feel I am a part of a great institution which is Rangers and for people to link Rangers to something that is bad, I feel as though I am being criticised also.

The problem I have with Rangers teaming up with Celtic against Bigotry etc, is mainly because I genuinenly believe that Celtic don't give a care in the world about it at all, so long as nobody criticises them about it. They're willing to allow it to happen within their stadium, unless it is their fans who are being criticised by the media, independent bodies, or anyone else. Even then, when they are challenged they suggest it is not sectarian and in fact songs glorifying terrorists are just political.

When the board of Celtic would rather come out in public and criticise a song us Rangers fans sing (which is not sectarian, nor is it racist) rather than own up that there is a problem within their own support, which is evident whilst watching Celtic games. Fans singing and chanting support for a terrorist organisation which murdered innocent British men, women and children and also songs denouncing OUR nation's monarchy. He is more concerned that we ask people who claim to be Irish, when in fact they are not, to go home if they cannot show respect to our nation?

I will organize a focus group at some point next month. You are welcome to join! I have to sort out first whether i can pay something symbolically (as i am self-funded it might be difficult, but i will discuss it with my department for some help).

Cheers

KEV

Keep up the good work lads!!

Dimitrios...if you are wanting to set up a focus group or something to discuss this sort of thing better then I'd be more than willing to attend (tu) Cant see you getting much back from just askign questions on an internet forum (tu)

Done your survey. I voted Carling in this poll, but I don't mind who the sponsor is, so long as they pay us for the space on the shirt. I'm afraid we're not in a financial position to have Unicef on the front, though I'd love it if we were one day.
