  1. Lets's not be like them. We are not mopes.

Roughy is just a big, harmless goof ball. It's all about context and the intention. He's not intended offence, he's not said it in any sort of antagonistic way.

If a Celtic fan comes on talking about the 'horrible h*ns' in Govan........then I'd take offence at that. Roughy having a bit of a laugh and jokingly asking the guy if he's the token h*n in work because he's got to work with 10 Celtic fans.......that's really not something to cry about.

H*n is often used by non Old Firm fans without realising the offence which is attached to it. Growing up, fairly often I would even hear Rangers fans ignorantly calling themselves h*ns ! Roughy has probably grown up unaware of the offensive nature of the word, has probably been made aware of it in recent years, has fallen back into using the word casually in good natured banter but immediately realised and put his hands up to his mistake.

They don't get taken seriously because they mump and moan about every bloody thing under the sun that goes against them. Lets not go down the same route.

If I say the only F*nian in work, that's ok then?

Go get your heid sorted. Hu.n is designated the same as f.enian and with people like you saying "it's the context it's said in", no wonder they get away with things when we get punished. Hu.n is a sectarian term which he used publicly over public airwaves, it is a banned term no matter the context.

  2. Interesting read.

I know Lorna personally, as she's a friend of mine, but it's definitely safe to say we disagree on football.

I know for a fact she's never been to a game, never mind an Old Firm one.

Also, I know for a fact she doesn't like us Gers fans on the whole, bu t I can categorically say she has no agenda - she doesn't look for any excuse to do us down in the press.

Anyone from VB wants more info, feel free to PM me - within reason. (tu)

Just out of curiosity, if she has no agenda then why the heck is she writing a story on a subject she obviously knows sweet FA about?

Her facts prove that, as to not knowing which part of the ground said people were in.

It appears she does not do her homework. Another lazy reporter going on what "tims tell her".

By not doing her homework or work properly, she should be sacked. But it's a gutter rag she works for so she probably belongs there.

Why is everything being deflected away from the real culprits on the day. Scumbags not respecting the silence for a former player.

The greatest pedos in the world deflect again.

  3. Sky news the silence was not observed by everyone and showed the taigs in the background.

Why not just come out and say it The taigs disrespected yet another ex Rangers player memory.

Scumbags one and all. I say all as none would report the culprits so they are just scumbags as well.

They shoould have been escorted out of the ground.

Don't tell me no stewards or police knew exactly who was at it.

  4. The police will be in and out like yo yo's on Sunday making sure no one is in drinking before 12.30

Don't think you will get in till offiical opening times.

Being an early kick off too, I would not hold out much hope of getting in.

    Good luck if you do.

I can't mention the name on here, but I'll be in a pub early doors. ;)

Only if they know you that is.

Hope you're not talking about the Sari Heed?

You'll have a sari heid if you are insuating

I would even go near that palce let alone go in it. ;)

  5. The family requested a minutes silence. Now we know the tarr's will do something.

They will probably applaud, ignoring the families request, to drown the scumbags that will

    make "silly noises".

Then if they are heard, it will only be a "minority".

It's a minority anyway as we will have more fans at the stadium.

So how many is a minority in these situations?

If anyone disrespecting the request for a minutes silence, should be sent packing.

  7. The man has strongly held religious beliefs, hes a religious education teacher at a catholic school and if he wants to have a crucifix on his whistle then thats his free choice. I have no problem with this but I do think he leaves himself open to small minded people questioning his impartiality. For this reason im surprised he chooses to wear his cross in such a visible manner. Some people will inevitably see this as a defiant or provocative gesture.

Why are players not allowed to have such things on display then? It's no different for refs. They should not be allowed to put religous things on offiicial gear. Just as players can't.

If that was a red hand or plain cross. or a masonic item, by god you would never haveheard the end of it from the mhedia and plastic paddies being offended.

They opened the can of worms, so never let up in being offended ourselves.

  8. Another wee point, in Scotland the game was a delayed broadcast. Scotland were playing Wales at Hampden in the Home Internationals that evening, and as such the SFA refused live broadcast coverage. The delayed transmission begun when the Scotland game was finished.

Were there any Rangers players in the Scotland squad?

I don't know, but I would guess there were a few - Tommy Mclean; Sandy Jardine; Bud; DJ (maybe he was too young then); Colin Colin, Colin Stein; John Greig; Willie Henderson.......

I think he meant playing in the Scotland game.
