Well done hamburg onwards and upwards now hopefully. Is that michael manciene getting a game with them if so how's he doing?
He's injured, but not severely. So he wasn't playing the last two matches. Obviously he has to adapt physically and in terms of speed. But my opinion is, that he clearly is an option and has what it takes. Sometimes he's still hindered by naivity, but hey, that's why you call such players a prospect.

Great second half. Wow, that was an awakening! I'm so happy!!

HSV sacked head coach Michael Oenning

Thank f*ck!
Can't put in words how relieved I am.

German National Team player Robert Dietrich was in that plane and died too. I knew him for years and spoke so often to him. This is so sad.
RIP to all the victims and my thoughts go to all relatives and friends.

And besides....that damages the worth of developping and scouting football talent. In near future you better scout for wealthy sheiks than investing in the growth of you talent depth.

Even keeping it in sport, some of the best NBA players are making triple what Eto'o would with Anzhi.
I always pull this example out, but people just don't understand how rich the Middle East/Russian clubs are. The Man City owners make an extra £300m PER DAY when petrol rises by 1p a litre, these elite owners could give Eto'o £1m a week and they wouldn't particularly notice it.
I have a problem when football clubs are giving players money they don't have, but that'll never be the case with a select few owners, one if which is the Anzhi owner.
But it still ruins the work of all the clubs, who earn their money out of the professional football system. Maybe once in a while they benefit of one transfer fee for one of their players, but that's ist and not worth a healthy business system, just because it's a one-time-benefit. Therefore these owners and sponsors are wrecking the whole stuff.
This is no competition.

In terms of sponsoring, the Bundesliga tops all other leagues. And attendance. As shown, the TV-deals are totally different. This is where the english, spanish and french - even the italian - leagues are so much ahead of the Bundesliga. Pay-TV-market has always been much smaller in Germany. Less People are willing to pay extra money for any kind of additional TV as we have about 30 big channels for free. And if I say free, there has to be told, that every TV-consumer in Germany pays a monthly rate of about 20 € in general and without exception. This money goes to state-run media. Another valid argument for the lower amounts of Pay-TV-subscribers.

I don't care, I just hope they won't ruin our stadium.

Nurnberg drew at the weekend so Hamburg are only a point behind them to try and replace them in the last European spot!
NUR DER HSV!
Keep in mind, that 5th place is needed. Currently going to Mainz, 3 points ahead of us.

Inter can be very happy it's not 5:1 by now.

By the way, if anyone is interested (I'll write it anyway ): The colour red which dominates the official Hamburg flag is the reason, why HSV is playing in red trousers - and has a red outfit as a third jersey, especially for european away games. Therefore, the team is traditionally called the "Rothosen" (red trousers).
-
The castle on red ground is the official symbol of Hamburg. It's only, that Pauli has integrated this on their badge. Well, after all they are from Hamburg, so nothing to complain, though they are always trying to underline the fact, that they are from one particular part of town.

You'll find this flag also very often in our stand.
To explain "Der Hamburger Weg": It's a social project combining club, players, sponsors and fans. They care about education for poor pepole, social projects in general an such stuff. Sponsors can choose to take part in this project, so that half (I think) of their contribution goes to these social projects.

Congratulations fellows!
Was watching the game yesterday via stream and it left me celebrating your goal like it was one of HSV!
Greetings from Hamburg

The same league where the runaway leaders got horsed out of Europe?
I still love the league, but people are going way OTT.
Dortmund were very very unlucky in their group. Both games versus Paris, they were the better team and came out with two draws. The first match against Sevilla was a joke, haven't witnessed such a laughable result in years, when Sevilla won 1:0 in Dortmund. Should have been 5:0 to Dortmund. And I'm not a fan of Borussia.
An in addition: Stuttgart finishing their group in the EL as first, so what does that say? ;-)

I couldn't see any of the players wearing them in the pictures in the report
No, some of them were even playing in jerseys with short sleeves. Ah wait, one norwegian guy wore it. Iversen.

I want my VDV back for my HSV !!!!
-
What channel is the game on?
In Germany? ZDF ;-)
-
Your match against Spain will be live on one of the biggest free TV-Channels here in Germany, just after our own game. So give Spain a good fight please! :-)

Would have loved to see him come back to Hamburg.
-
I have the game on. Murrayfield bar, roseburn terrace.
So it's broadcasted in the UK?
Anyway, thank you!
-
To be honest, I don't know. Here in Germany it is broadcasted on Sky. When you catch a live Bundesliga game in Scotland, is it on ESPN?

Hi mates,
a friend of mine is currently in Edinburgh. Unfortunately he has chosen a very important weekend to travel to Scotland, because tomorrow the holy HSV is playing the city rivals of St. Pauli. So he's trying to find a pub or anything else, where he might be able to watch this game - which means a lot to us in Hamburg.
Maybe some of the users here are from Edinburgh or know some places that show Bundesliga football. The game starts 15:30 CET.
I know that the odds are not very good, but I simply promised him to ask in every possible way. Thanks for your help. Rangers and HSV!

Next match on, after a few minutes Dortmund leads by one in Stuttgart. Seems to continue...
