I don't see how people can have a problem with this. Football is a business and this is a smart move. You would not describe the EPL tourno in Asia as desperate would you. This is a money spinner, not only on the day but in raising the profile of the SPL in a huge country, increasing the demand for our matches to be shown on tv, and for our merchandise.
And who is going to be the winner? Aside from the Irish immigrants who funded the IRA over the years, which team is most likely to attract new fans... a bunch of taigs or the team with the US national teams poster boy Maurice Edu. If we take advantage of the EDU-factor and get him in all the TV advertisements shown there in the build up we will reap the rewards in the long run.

Personally I would not be keen on anyone Managing the club with no previous managerial experience, McCoist or otherwise. I would be happy to see McCoist manage the club once he has learned his trade managing somewhere else, such as the championship.
That being said, Walter Smith had no previous experience in club management when he took over from Souness in '91. Do any of the old bears remember how the prospect of a rookie Smith managing the club went down with the fans?

Smith and Beasley are out for sure, Broadfoot is also likely to leave. I think Smith would like to keep Novo and Weir if possible, and after Weir getting POTY last night I think it's even more likely he'll stay. As for Boyd as time passes and no takeover comes it is getting more and more likely he's of to Birmingham.
I can see Shagger getting sold, his is the only place that there is a ready replacement in the team of similar quality in Alexander. I think he may get punted to free up cash to add to other areas of the squad.
We need to bring in a couple of wide players, we have to avoid Davis and Lafferty getting played out of position. Davis has to be allowed back into the middle of the pitch, we are a much better team when he plays there. As for Lafferty I fancy him as a good target man given a run in the side. I would still bring in a striker if Boyd goes, Goodwillie is a good shout.
If the bank are going to meddle in the club again in the summer I hope to fuck we are looking into securing some bosmans or good loans and stop them forcing the sale of our top assets eg. Bougherra, Davis, Wilson, Miller, Thomson

I don't think Davis should get it.
He's a terrific player and doesn't need the burden.
Thomson DOES need it. I admit that he's a little hot headed at times, but I wouldn't take that out his game, else we'd lose 60% of the player.
I think that if he was given the captaincy, he'd channel his aggression the right way and he'd be terrific for us.

If we wrap up the league we should be playing youngsters in all the remaining games. It's a great opportunity for them to get more exposure to in first team matches.
Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea etc have done it, so should we. It just makes sense.

As we've had to play wilson quite a lot and he's not let us down could we not play bougherra on the right of midfield seemed as though he was playing there 2nd half last night anyway thus letting davis to move back into his natural position in the centre

bougie might be a centre half m8, but on several occassions when the wingers are not in the game he moves up and looks more dangerous in 10min spells than they have the full game...!!! i for one would be happy for him to be on RM....as long as davis is played in the middle!!!!
Aye when Davis moved into the centre Bougie was out on the right wing. This was our most dangerous period, mainly down to Davis pulling the strings in CM. If yer gonna move bougie anywhere move him to RB and push Whittaker forward to RM, with Davis in the middle. This would still allow Bougie to get forward a when ever he felt like it as Whittaker could easily drop into RB.
The main thing is to get Davis in the middle asap, fuck sake Walter lets get this league won.

Agree with both of you. You judge a player by the season not the game, and Lafferty has been way below the standards we expect at a club of this magnitude. Good performance last night, but he needs to consistently perform at that level or he has to go!

I'd like him to stay. Aye he's not the most gifted player in the world but he is always the most committed player on the park. He's good enough for the SPL and has proved he can grab important goals in Europe.
The guys Rangers through and through and leads by example, with the level of commitment we deserve.
