Just found out that the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) standings is out now. This is for NCAA college American football. Don't ask me how the BCS standings are computed; however, all I know is that the BCS standings are based on Harris Interactive, USA Today and Computers.

NCAA and NFL have something in common- tailgating before the games. A lot of them get to the stadium several hours early to set up food, drinks, etc. and do their tailgating. I have never been to one, but I have seen a lot of videos and pictures about that. TexasGers, have you been to several tailgates?

My mom is a Longhorn graduate; my dad and my sister are Aggies. I graduated from Baylor. I always rooted for Oklahoma because I was born there, and I never liked Texas athletics all my life. The only game I am willing to watch is the tu-Texas A&M game. I have seen Baylor beat Texas twice at Baylor Stadium (it's now called Floyd Casey Stadium). I grew up hearing a lot of Aggie jokes and am very familiar with Texas A&M traditions.

This is not a NFL related topic, but still related to American football. By the time 5 pm comes, that means it's time for me to go home after work. I will be filled with joy because I will be driving southbound on I-35 and looking to my left to see long lines (three lanes) of cars, trucks, 18-wheelers, RVs, etc. crowding the northbound of I-35. Most of them will be going to Dallas in hopes to make it in time to get to their hotels, motels, restaurants, etc. You will be reading and wondering what I'm talking about. They are going there, actually, some of them already left yesterday, to attend the Texas-Oklahoma game at the Cotton Bowl. It is the annual Red River Shootout, er, I mean, Red River Rivalry. That name was changed for PC reasons, so it would not appear to promote gun violence. Letting y'all know that it is a long read below, but it explains about this annual game between rivals. This game has been played since 1900. It is still a major game, but it has lately been losing luster.
Me: I will root for the Boomer Sooner! I got a text message that a person wrote, "Tuck Fexas." Jordan Shipley is a very talented, yet shifty wide receiver for the Longhorns, so I would not be surprised that the 'Horns will win a close game. Sam Bradford, the QB for Oklahoma, will be playing in his second game after an injury to his shoulder. The Horns are 5-0 and the Sooners are 3-2.

My personal opinion... there is no need to have Columbus Day. I went to work anyway because I work at the local college. Several high schools were closed today.

Yeah, this Saturday will feature the annual Red River Rivalry between the University of Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl at 11 am.
I will be glad to be off Friday afternoon, so I don't have to worry about the heavy traffic on I-35 North. It will be a bumper-to-bumper traffic full of Longhorn fans going up to the Big D with occasional Sooner fans. The biggest night in Big D will be Friday night.

I learned about this website several years ago.

I believe this picture was taken two weeks ago in which a Cameron Yoe player hauled in a catch. That was a heckuva catch by a Class 3A high school player. In Texas, we have 5 classes- 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A as well as 6-man football. The classes are based on the student enrollment of each high school. For example, my son goes to (Hewitt) Midway High School which has a student enrollment of 1,912 which places them in Class 4A. If that enrollment keeps going higher, they may be classified into 5A.

bkay is going to be smiling big as his Colts won, 31-9 over the Titans.

Even before the Colts-Titans game, I had a feeling Indy will win by several touchdowns.
Saw this blogger's report on today's game including the Denver Broncos throwback uniforms. Yeeeech! Their socks are UGLY. That reminds me of actors wearing them in Italian plays. These socks remind me of Venice, for I don't know why I am saying that.
