  1. jela_ger.jpgRangers' hopes of having Nikica Jelavic for the Champions League have been dashed tonight as Aston Villa were dumped out of Europe by Jelavic's previous club Rapid.

The English club lost 3:2 at home tonight as Rapid dumped out the Premiership club for the second year in succession. Villa took an early lead through Gabriel Agbonlahor which was cancelled out on the 52nd minute.

Emile Heskey sent Villa into the lead on the 77th minute but a resilient Rapid fought back and scored two goals before the end to win the game 4:3 on aggregate.

Jelavic had pinned his hopes on his old club losing the match after he was granted a work permit to complete his move to Rangers. The deal will be finalised as soon as Jelavic can sort out some pending documentation in Croatia. Rangers have until 5pm on Friday to secure Jelavic's documentation and have him registered if he is to be eligible for Rangers home match against St Johnstone on Saturday.

Should be nice and fresh for the league then.

  2. Myself and a few mates are hoping to get to a game soon but we're not part of a supporters club and would rather go by train anyway. We're all from Ulster and i'm just wondering if anyone can tell me where the nearest train station to Cairnryan is (and how to get there if there isn't one in Cairnryan itself) and which Glasgow station is closest to Ibrox and how much of a walk it is?

Many thanks in advance. Didn't post this in the supporters section as it didn't fit any of the criteria

Presuming it's a home game you're going to.

If not and the tims are at home, the boat may be infested. If this is the case, don't wear your colours as you probably won't be allowed to board as the home team usually has priority.

I used to be security on board Seacat a few years ago and this was the case.

  3. If this wasn't the first time he has done this then the only time to be concerned in any way would be in a year or two.

If you believe most of the press, then this was the only action left for him to take in order to get a move to one of the best Clubs in the world.

I believe both jelavic and Bain were used by the Rapid President as a way of avoiding losing face to their support.

He is the "villian" on this occasion imo.

Just look foeward to him doing the business of getting us far in the Champions' League and qualifying again for next season.
