  1. Perhaps Goat. I get that. All I'll say is that no mention of a 'thank you' to Walter? Equals no class imho.

How many times did we see Steve D. out on the wing to 'accommodate' KT? Gone off him now...

I will say this... In a sense.. M'Boro are a reflection on how well the OF would do down south? They better get promoted and Boyd better score 30 goals.

Otherwise... the OF 'proper' will be looked upon as pure and utter shite.

never, when thomson was injured or suspended we played davis on the wing with lee and mo in the centre, that's just what works with the players strengths that we have.

it's a cliche comment but thomson feels like he's been forced out of the club by walter, it was walter, who, before kevin went into real talks with boro, had already said he wanted him to go there. your version would've been better but you can see thommo's point, if he's trying to make one at all

  2. hull city-

mendy's lazy, definately not worth it, was too inflated idea of himself :anguish:

cairney won't be sold- even in their financial state but anyone else will go for the right price

boaz myhill, their keepers not bad, better than alexander probably and a good bet if we sell mcgregor

moyoukolo has a lot of interest, he's a great player and still young but the likes of chelsea and blackburn are sniffing around for him apparently

zayette's good and easy prey but has been injured recently

jan vennegor of hesselink's there and not bad, strikes where we're maybe lacking at the mo if/ when boyd leaves

    burnley-

stephen fletcher looks a good bet :)

  3. Thommo will be ready to go for this. No way he misses it. Of course, I'm certain a Mister Robbie Keane will be hoping KT won't play !

Anyway, as long as we're aggressive, we'll stroll this match. They can't handle us. And a massive giruy to Kamara!

    GERS 2-0 Winners.

Big Kyle and Kenny to score. And Boogie to take the piss with mad upfield runs! Pretty sure Walter kept him out of sight v Dundee UTD to let shellick think he won't play on Tuesday.

aye... keane was probably tipping dundee players to injure him for this one, he'll have to start putting laxatives in his lucasade

taking kev off shows he's in walters plans because he'd probably have left him on if it was any other game

2-0 sounds good to me, great result to sign off a campaign of quality OF derbys :21:

i just hope jimmy bullard heads up here next season, big lee, thommo and mo would soo see to him :D

  4. only 1 kevin thomson

whilst players such as davis's play would diminish with the responsibility of the role, thommo would grow as a player, if scott brown can be a skipper then surely kevin thomson would walk it

brown is a shitee captain though

suits his team then, as thomson's skills would suit his

    watp :)

  5. Kevin Thomson is as far away from being a Rangers Captain as it is just about possible to be.

A Hibs fan who is only here because we pay more money than Hibs. He still lives in Edinburgh, still goes about with his fellow-Hibs fans mates, and generally cares not a jot about our club.

Yes, he will give his all to try to win games, i'm not calling into question his professionalism at all, just that to be the Captain of The Rangers is so much more than what you do on the pitch, and Thomson gets nowhere near the required mark.

If Weir does indeed leave at the end of the season, it will be a big decision to see who replaces him, and we probably need to wait and see who is going to be here next season first before making that decision.

my auntie lives near him in edinburgh and apparently loads of gers players live round there just to avoid trouble (i bet beasley wished he did after the car bomb) they get from opposition, in fact the club recomend it and mcgreggor was told to move there a few months ago by walter. to say thommo doesn't care about gers is pretty stupid and i doubt there's many hibs fans who would say that he was still loyal to them, he had offers from celtic too who probably would've paid him more eventually and there were oppotunities to go to the epl but the guy jumped at the chance to come here. he's been broadcasting how much it means to him to be here and how much he wants a new contract here, just recently. you can't just expect a player to drop all their mates just because they move on although why he likes scott brown is beyond me (i guess next to him he's even better looking lol)

kevin's got the experience and commitment to rangers, he's made that clear from the off and, although he's been dropped recently, his play's improving with age (he's only just getting over a really serious injury remember)and with the armband that would add to him as a player whilst with some others, the responsibility would make them less of a player :)

  6. Lee had a good first half today, and a decent 90.

I'm a big fan of Thomson, I think Edu could be a valuable player for us.......and I've always, always, really hated the sight of Lee McCulloch on our team sheet, the one and only really big thing I've had against Walter during his second spell.

However, this season Lee has done well. He may only put in a 6 or 7 out of 10 most games, but he's shown good consistency and definitely been better than Thomson and Edu over the course of this season. He's deserved his regular place.

It's not up to Walter Smith to drop Lee McCulloch. It's up to Thomson and Edu to step up to the plate more often, the way Thomson did second half today. Edu may have had injury problems as an excuse, but Thomson has just had a crap season, bottom line.

since when has thommo not had injury problems as an excuse!? they're the only thing keeping him from jetting down south. anyway, he's not been that crap and when he puts even 50% of his play into the game, it always better than what lee can produce at best.

  7. utterly admirable stuff, :praise: he's evidently been putting in the work with technicque which, after a solid first half, he displayed. deserved that 20 yard goal and put in a really good corner for lafferty to covert. he's a fantastic player who's worth every penny when he puts in a performance like that and, considering a few people near me thought edu should've started, he should easiliy have been motm. i've always been a fan (hence the avatar) he deserves the armband next season and he epiomized the workrate of the team today great result

enzo c, it was craig thomson that was crap lol  don't know what you mean, i thought it was another one of those games where he displayed why he's at the top club in scotland and why he should be 1st choice for cm with davis or edu (tu)

  8. i think it'll go to big lee unfortunately (i've got nothing against him but he doesn't deserve and wouldn't be good in a position like this), but while he was going through painful surgery, up to his eyeballs in morphine, refusing to take a break from rehab to get back in time for pre season and missing his summer holiday to ensure he got fit all for the club he's so proud of playing for, kevin thomson was promised it and has already said how much it would mean to him. not only that, the way he commands the midfield is there for everyone to see on a saturday, his shown the mental character he's had coming back from 2 serious injuries AND he was successful as hibernian's youngest ever captain at just 22, a manager doesn't give that responsibility (i know it was mowbray but still...) to any other player at such a young age. :praise:

  9. i love all the 'huge fans of thommo' who keep on slating him!

lee's not as bad as some people are making out, he's nothing amazingly special but hasn't made ot many mistakes and does a pretty decent job but i think the thing with thomson is that he still puts it a great workrate in midfield every game it's just that he has games, like the old firm and hibs clashes this year, where he really shows the player that's slowly coming to the surface, part of his problem is that his tackles not only get him pulled up for bookings and reds but they get himself injured a lot too so it's not that he's injury prone physically, there's nothing re-uccuring (his second knee injury was on a different knee to the first) it's just that the way he plays gets him hurt.

i'm a 'huge fan of thommo' :h34rt: and i think if we're playing edu who has shone in the chances he's had this season then the better and more up and coming player, i.e. thomson should get the start alongside him because, although mcculloch's probably been more consistant, thomson can make the biggest impact in a game if playing to his full strength and still isn't (usually) a liability if not.
