    Double eged sword this 4-5-1system.

    Apparently we need to play this because we are a poor team in Europe and cannot hold our own in midfield

    Doing so isolates our loan striker though to the point where they are non existent and no threat even if they do get the ball.

    We line up with this system with one aim...to stifle and stop the opposition.

    Part of the problem i have with this system is the ingrained mentality it produces when in every game you line up thinking "the opposition is better than us"

    I have absolutely no doubts it contributed to the results against Malmo and Maribor where we looked scared and apprehensive of what was mediocre opposition.

    You keep telling players they are inferior to the opposition either verbally or in your tactics and it's inevitable they will be apprehensive and less willing to believe in their own ability.

    The problem McCoist had last night though was that he could only play 4-5-1 due to us only having one striker in the squad. That for me is a serious concern and one that wasn't properly addressed in the close season.

    Ah but this is where your wrong, this 4-5-1 the Rangers way means it's 4-3-3 in attack....Or so we are led to believe no evidence whatsoever to back this up! LOL!

    Boyd scored two equalising goals and the winning penalty in a league cup final.

    He also scored 5 goals in one game.

    But yeah, shit player.

    You want your strikers to score goals, Boyd did. At this moment we aren't scoring goals.

    If Boyd was Dutch and had been called Van Boydy he would of been a legend among most of the support!
