  1. McKay is easily one of the top 3 technical players we have. The constant abuse he receives for no going into a challenge with some 6'3 bruiser is mind boggling. Garner receives all sorts of plaudits, doubt he's contributed half as much to the team as McKay

  2. One of our better players. According to TheSPFLRadar on twitter the top performing full back in the league(only covers attacking stats really). Regardless his defending is better than folk like to admit. One on one he's excellent, however he could improve when he is required to tuck in.

Mohsni for me is every bit as good of CB as we currently have and I still say that in this division he'd be a decent CDM.

Not a popular opinion to share but the way I look at it is that Mohsni became a "bomb scare" when the arse had fallen out the team, i.e. at the same time Wallace and Law were shite. A "bomb scare" that was 90% of the time the difference in stopping us losing a goal at that time.

Out of Wilson and Kiernan - who of them is our commanding CB that wins every header and doesn't make a mistake? Mohsni won every header, commanded his position, had the ball played through him permanently in a far worse team and he could skin a man or two; his temperament was suspect though no doubt. You could argue that his decision making was also suspect with ease.

Mohsni's "fuck-ups" were basically him being passed the ball with 2 men on him as the last man and him not finding a pass, losing it and us losing a goal in a team that was always 1 goal away from defeat. Would that be the case now?

Now none of what I've said means he wasn't guilty of some lax decisions or that he had a sensible head on his shoulders - all I'm saying is that if you addressed those two issues in any way I reckon he'd not look out of place as CB in this team under Warburton.

Mohsni would lose the ball trying to skin 2 maybe but he actually was capable of doing it  80% of the time; when Wilson or Kiernan make an arse of it it's failing to mark their man or watch for playing a man on side - they are hardly lightyears ahead, who of either of them can skin 1 or 2 players regularly and get away with it? Arguably they are no better but given a far easier ride because the train is moving on whole in the right direction.

While I'm not calling for us to re-sign him, I don't think I'd cry if he was offered until the end of the season to get his shit together and prove himself worthy of a further deal. No one could say that experiment wouldn't be interesting to watch and if someone will get a turn out of him then Warburton's the man is he not?!

Maybe I'm too kind to him and lot of my judgement on him is based on 'ifs and ands' but I honestly think people are overly scapegoating of Mohsni all things considered.

Despite sharing these ponderings and points I lastly just want to stress that to win the top division we either need our CB's to improve dramatically or we need to replace them because they are not good enough, it is that simple for me.

He got skelped off Rory Loy in the air when he made in 1-1 in the Falkirk game
