Cheers RFC. I will be more careful when posting in future. I did not check this out before I started the thread. Apologies to all. :(

  2. No link. I have "acquaintances" (being polite here!) of a different persuasion and they are winding me up about it. I'm in work at the minute and I haven't got the time to go onto the ASA website to check the authenticity, but they have said that's where they picked it up from.

  3. WTF is this all about? :(

    ASA ruling withdrawn

The Independent Review Process of the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has looked into the ASA’s recent, and widely reported, ruling on Rangers International’s claim on football titles won by a liquidated club. The Review found that “it was a procedural flaw for the ASA to have relied on an extract only of a report sent to it by the advertiser”.

Further, the review process ruled that “there was also the risk of a substantial flaw of adjudication in the distinction that had been made between ‘club’ and ‘company’, especially in the light of previous ASA decisions about companies that change hands and the circumstances in which the new company could or could not trade off the reputation of the old company”.

The Chairman of the ASA, Lord Smith of Finsbury, has decided to reopen the ASA’s investigation into the case and to withdraw the published adjudication, which favoured the advertiser. Withdrawing this adjudication does not infer that a different outcome will subsequently be reached.

An interesting, and potentially critical part of the story, is that after the initial ASA decision was issued, the club’s web site noted that their submission to the process included information that a “panel of the London Stock Exchange” supported their claim.

The Stock Exchange subsequently appeared surprised at this assertion, so much so that the club promptly withdrew the claim from the web article.

  4. I was in the Manchester store last week and there was none of our merchandise on display. I know the new strips aren't out until August but there were two racks of Bheast tops and full kids' strips as well. (td)

  5. Jim Traynor doesnt appear to agree with you either on the overall principle given his comments.

Why did we ever employ Traynor in the first place? He was one of the first twats to come out with the new club/no history shit. I have never, and still don't, understand this. And recently his silence is deafening. Wtf is going on with Traynor?

  6. Playing the final at Forres Mechanics

    Nah

We both played each other at each others grounds in cup semi's in the 90's when Hampden wasn't playable.

Unsure how it would work for a final?

Think Murrayfield would be good as that wouldn't involve us volunteering our stadium to the SFA or SPL for their cups. We couldn't tell them no at the start of the season then say yes when we get to the final.

You know that wee picture at the foot of your posts? Could you crop it to take out the word Lomond? Did they no take the team's cars back when we went into admin. Just a thought mate. :)

  7. I can't say too much, but one of the serious major investors is down nearly 40% on the purchase price and the company involved are less than impressed with the person who made the purchase. As and when I can, I will name names. 150,000 have been bought today, but this has a lot of mileage yet. I only know the first point because of the industry I work in.

  8. Their Head of Complaints has obviously been busy. I got a reply yesterday to a complaint I sent on 13th APRIL (and which took 2 more complaints about not getting any response).

To give context, I had complained that the BBC had stated (online) as a matter of fact that CG had transferred the assets of the Club to another company a few days later. The inclusion of this in their article indicated that they knew 100% that our assets and history had been bought originally by Sevco 5088 and then transferred to Sevco Scotland.

Now we all know that is bollocks. So I quoted the Duff & Phelps Report that states, on more than one occasion, that everything was sold to Sevco Scotland. End of. No doubts. No question marks.

Here is the reply I got.........

Thank you for your e-mail. Your comments were passed to the Head of News, who has asked that I forward his response as follows:

"Thank you for being in touch about our online service. May I first of all apologise for the length of time that it has taken to answer your points. There appears to have been a failure (wholly on our part, not yours) to allocate this complaint to the appropriate respondents. That is, of course, an explanation, not an excuse.

The Duff & Phelps version of this transfer has not been the only source of information and nor does everyone treat it as the only authority. The roles of Sevco 5088 and Sevco Scotland have not been at all clear, and as I understand it, they are still the subject of legal dispute. These, among other matters, make this an exceptionally complex story which we have reported as fairly and accurately as possible.

You reflect on the quality of our journalism: you are, of course, entitled to your view, but for my part I see day in, day out, story after story – however complicated, however confusing (or even confused) – brought to the licence fee payer in an understandable and fair way, based on information both received and uncovered.

Thank you again for taking the trouble to be in touch."

Details of the BBC complaints process are available online at http://www.bbc.co.uk...ts/handle.shtml

Thanks again for contacting the BBC.

    Kind Regards

Needless to say, I will be replying with my dissatisfaction in the response. D&P, having been appointed by, and answerable to, The Court of Sessions ARE the only authority on what was sold to who.

Whilst not condoning this response, this is a big "fuck off" good buddy. Breaker 1-9 over.
