Heh i was in the BB for a few years myself.
Hiya Z-Lister... Pleased to meet you.
I am D-Lister.
-
Poor and Buckfast...
-
1st - Smith
2nd - McLeish
3rd - Advocaat
Last - Le Guen
McLeish is 2nd due to the fact he had hee-haw to spend and was basically hung out to dry as a stop-gap exercise. But he always had his professionalism, his pride and he's a great big guy to boot... Added to the fact that he outgunned St.Martin. Ye get me?
-
Yes - I think this team is 100% Walters he calls the shots - if he wasnt I dont believe he would try to take any credit and instead pass it on - wee things like if Ally had picked the team he would have done the press conferences - like when he does the cups!
100% true.
-
I know one good result doesn't change everything overnight... and Kenny goes through these purple patches for a few games then it goes awry again for a while. Very much a form player.
As for Walter. He has my 100% respect and support. The only man who told us the truth about the banks. The man is Gers through and through.
-
I was expecting dancing... !
-
David Weir
Nacho Novo
Laryea Kingston
Kirk Broadfoot
DaMarcus Beasley
Andy Dorman
Morgaro Gomis
These are the realistic targets, along with (hopefully) Boyd...
-
Graham Alexander will be in Walter's line of sight then...!
In fairness, he's been great in the Premiership this season in a new DMF role.
-
I dont think we can compete with other teams in terms of wages, but in our favour he is one of us and can fufill all his ambitions at Ibrox. Apart from any Euro success obviously...
We dont have to, just some parity, given Miller, McCulloch, Lafferty etc are paid considerably more and contribute less. Its really hard to argue that its fair.
Ideally, I would sack those 3 off and stick Boyd on £20k, and tie him down long term. Worst case? we get a good price for him
aye spot on. those 3 bastards dont belong. why the fuck did we let jean claude darcheville go anyway? BBoyd, darcheville and 1 new striker who was half decent we could have got for all the money wasted on mccullough and miller
Darcheville couldnae trap a bag of cement... His first touch was worse than Miller's - and he scored less.
10 out of 10 for effort right enough, so let's get him back...!
-
No Boyd, No goasl, no title? Bull. How many league have we won with him one. He should be getting a new deal tho.
Aye... but we have always had guys like McCoist, Hateley, Mo Johnston and Derek Johnstone in the past. Every team needs a striker who will score 20+ a season. The only time I can remember winning the league without one was when Bazza and De Boer were firing in 15 goals a season from midfield.
-
heard this the other day we will still have 2 qual places for champions league, dont matter when we will finish top anyway
It's just that both Scottish teams will have to go through three qualifying rounds against top quality opposition (as Celtic found out this year).
-
Right... I see.
Cheers.
-
they already have it after the standard liege keeper scored that header against AZ alkmaar
Not yet, mate... They are still below us.

3-0 down after 19 minutes , Ajax also down 3-0 at home v Anderlecht.
Are you Belgian?
Because that's the only people who will be celebrating these results. They will get our automatic Champions League spot.
Enjoy dipping yer chips into that mayonnaise, mate.
-
Just switched over to catch results ,the beggars are doon 3-1,and always tarriers in studio or on commentating, whit the fks goan on.any body else notice this even when english teams are playin,Townsend etc.
Away and don't talk pish...! What's this got to do with Rangers???
-
Re Whittaker, I still argue that his best position is RM with a decent RB behind him. The football we played when he & Hutton were in the side was a joy to behold! That said....impossible argument after the last two games. Two fantastic performances from Novo & Beasley on their wrong sides!
Maybe we're getting a little carried away after just two games, but at last something MAJOR is starting to click! Am actually looking forward to the OF game. I can see us getting another two 3-0 wins in the next couple of games to set us up nicely!
Canny wait till Saturday
Surely it's about time we steam-rolled Motherwell????
Let's munch some Gammon...

What must a 'confidence player' feel like when he knows he has been dropped and replaced by Broadfoot, ffs? This could finish him off!
I suppose this is the negativity that we could do without at the moment.
You could have said:
"Broadfoot, who has been a great utility player across the back four for us, is back. This will give Whittaker much needed competition for the full back slot. The battle for places will no doubt embolden and improve our first eleven..."
Nah; you choose to be totally negative towards us and our individual players. Don't say it was a joke - too many people slaggin' oor players and getting an ironic out card. Positivity will bring success... Get behind them.
PS - Broadfoot has been fantastic for us. He is better than some people give him credit for (you, some others on here and George Burley).

Whitty is a fantastic player. I've slagged him like any GERS supporter recently. But.. when you know you will walk into the side week after week, you lose the edge.
Certainly didn't hurt Slim Jim, or Laudrup.. but Whitty -- and the current squad NEED competition to be good. In our UEFA run, we had a massive squad and there was competition. Whitty came off the bench for the Lisbon goal for ex.
Like the guy and KB was better than I expected today. Why? Because he has to play out of his skin to get back in the squad. So now.. Whitty has to play out of his to keep his... and on it goes.
That's the way it has to be.. and what we have been missing all year.
That's a fair point, dude...
I still maintain that 'Whitty' is very short on confidence at the moment... We don't want good players to be hiding from the ball and secretly hoping to be dropped due to hefty criticism from the stands... that's mah point more than anything. Get behind the players and they will bring the title home again... definitely.
They need us... It is their hour of need. Do not desert the players when they need you most.
Good words mate... Agree. It's fine to slag him in Internet forums, but never, ever slag off a GERS player during a match. We are always united.
So get behind all the players -- and the management when we play. It's fair to criticize on here. But no true Ranger's supporter would ever -- imho -- not support our great team in our hour of need -- as you so rightly put it.
Great stuff mah man...
If we are on this same frequency of positivity then perhaps many others can tune in and we will no doubt prosper as a team and as a support...

Is this Whittaker in disguise?
I can confirm... Nope!
-
I like Whittaker but he needs to improve the defensive side of his game otherwise he is a liability. He is very good at attacking but he gets skinned far too easily and he lets too many crosses past him. He is also a confidence player and at the end of last season, the whole forum were delighted with him and thought Broadfoot shouldn't get a look in again. Very much a confidence player.
Very much my point. How does one gain confidence again in an admittedly mediocre team...?
GET BEHIND THEM... THEY NEED US MORE THAN EVER...!!!

Ghet a Lhife Yhou Thim-Chaser...!!!
Inject some positivity about the Gers n' stop talkin' aboot the Gasworks Ghang....!!!

By the way, a bad football player couldn't have scored that goal against Sporting. A good player high on confidence could easily score that kind of goal in a European quarter-final.
A good player low on confidence can trip over the ball and give away penalties due to over-eager challenges. If you have ever played the game then you will know exactly what I mean.
