  1. For anyone interested, go onto the ( boxing news now ) website were it lists all the latest world boxing news and stories. It has the last 3 days press conferences for the Frampton and Quigg fight.

These are the full pressers each lasting around 45 mins or so and are much different to the snippets you see on SSN etc.

Some very heated moments and explosive exchanges between the camps. Frampton really can't stand Hearn and Gallagher.

Well worth the watch, especially the atmosphere in Belfast, it's Extremely hostile.

  2. Carl Frampton is a Protestant from Loyalist "Tigers Bay". He is married to a catholic girl and has broad support from both communities.

He unites both Catholic and Protestant through sport, the way it should be. Very very highly respected and a working class hero in Belfast. A real gentleman.

  3. We know IRAceltic were not using EBT's apart from the Juninho example ( to our knowledge ), however what I would like to know is what scheme or facility they were / are using to pay wages?

You can bet your right arm that it will be a system that delivers not far off what the EBT system does in terms of tax savings, especially with someone like Dermot Desmond at the helm.

Everyone is distracted by the sole focus on Rangers tax affairs yet no one is asking these other clubs to lay open the details of their tax affairs which would of course embrace their moral pontificating and prove our advantage?? Aye right.

You could almost guarantee that for example if Rangers / David Murray were saving £10 on tax then IRAceltic / Dermot Desmond were saving about £9 ? Yet no one cares what the rest were / are doing. EBT was the scheme out of many deliberately chosen to go after and Rangers the club out of many deliberately chosen to go after yet the others are allowed to be ignored? The hypocrisy is disgusting and disgraceful.

  4. It would've cost Murray more money had he not used EBT's but that in no way means he wouldn't have spent it or couldn't afford it.

The reality is he would have done it using whatever best tax avoidance scheme was advised to him, if it wasn't by EBT's it would've been by other circumventing means which truck loads of companies were / are using.

I'm pleased to hear MON speak sense on the issue but sadly it will hold no water with the media and Rangers hating juggernaut that is revving its engine. Brace yourselves.

  5. Frampton will win on points.

Quigg beat Martinez convincingly last time out whilst Frampton had a scare in the USA, but people are getting far too carried away over that.

Martinez isn't the motivated / hungry fighter he was against Frampton for a start and he totally out boxed Quigg in the first round. Quigg caught him with some good shots in the 2nd and finished him well so fair play.

Frampton has beat other guys more convincingly than Quigg has before also.

Frampton totally underestimated the quality of his last Mexican opponent and learnt a huge lesson that night, this will prove a massive help to him for future fights like this one.

Frampton has won all his fights and his opponents have largely been of a higher quality than Quiggs who has also had 2 draws.

You can tell that Quigg is a bumbling idiot every time he speaks and is believing all Eddie Hearns usual over exaggerated hype and it's gonna cost him in this fight.

Quigg is a good fighter and seems to bang a bit but Frampton will dominate this fight and put Quigg back in his place.

  6. Northern Ireland are not full of world class players but what we have got is a great bunch of hardworking and talented boys with hunger and desire.

The Norn Iron defence is better than Scotland's that's for sure. Jonny Evans, Paddy M'cNair, Gareth M'cauley, Aaron Hughes, Conor M'laughlin, Chris Brunt, Craig Cathcart. That's a decent list of defenders to choose from.

People also need to realise the disparity that faces Northern Ireland boys growing up trying to become professional footballers given our location, the lack of a professional league and infrastructure at home, the legacy of the troubles in a lot of upbringings and the small population we have.

All of these things make our achievement even greater.

  7. I've been a Brentford fan for around 50yrs. Mark Warburton gave us the best and most entertaining football i'd ever seen at Brentford. He and DW conducted themselves in exemplary fashion during their last few months , no doubt that was noted at Rangers.Everyone was stunned when we heard he was leaving and i don't think we'll ever find out the real reason until Warbs writes a book. Meantime he's the type to keep his opinions on the matter to himself. Unsettling and not a little confusing at the time but I have faith in Mathew Benham and we'll now get behind Lee Carsley 100% and hopefully he'll get us back to mid table at least. That said, Warburton looks to have been given a clean slate at Rangers to apply his philosophy and develop the footballing side of the club as he wants (which he apparently wouldn't have been allowed to do at Brentford). I'd say he was pretty lucky to get that kind of opportunity at such a massive club, as such, magic hats off to the Rangers board for having the balls to take a chance on him and DW. The fans and everyone associated with Rangers are now reaping the rewards and fully deserve to. Rangers are a pleasure to watch these days and will continue to improve. Match made in heaven in my opinion.

Thats a nice post mate. Brentford were the ones who gave Mark his first big opportunity so need credit for that. The way it ended was unfortunate for you guys and now Mark has came to Rangers and impressed the hell out of us.

It's funny the way such things work in football because I now have a soft spot for Brentford and wish you all the best in the future.

  8. I've said numerous times that what is needed is a Bougherra type Centre half to play alongside either Keirnan or Wilson.

We need someone with real pace who can recover situations that will arise out of our attacking style of play. It's glaringly obvious how to remedy this weakness and I hope Mr Warburton is scouring the globe in order to identify such a player for next season.

  9. Glasgow Rangers to me is more than a club,

Its the way i was raised, It was the mates that i had, It was the songs that i learned,

That saturday feeling of heading down the pub before the match for a pint.

That feeling of it feeling like a day out and your only going to albion.

The feeling of winning/losing to skeptic/Unwashed

Having them bragging rights or hiding at work from colleagues.

The walking home pished singing The BlueBells are blue over and over and your family being ashamed as u stagger through the door and thoughtfully announce For we are the Brigton derry boys.

The No sleep the night before the old firm games.

The constant wearing of our tops while on holiday.

that feeling of champions league music just before a big euro match.

Anyway these are just a few points of what The Rangers are to me. please feel free to add more.

I think your post probably resonates with a lot of fellow bears mate, they just aren't letting on.

  10. IMO we are 3 players shy of a really decent team.

We need a Bougherra type centre half with recovery pace to play alongside either Wilson or Kiernan.

We need a proper holding midfield enforcer, in the mould of a Matic or even Wanyama ( sorry for the example ).

And to finish we need a striker with pace, skill and predatory instincts. Probably similar to Jelavic with a bit more pace.

Add those types alongside a bit of quality squad cover and we'd be in great shape.

I'm not bothered by the defeat because we'll learn so much more from it.
