  1. Well seeing as I never made any of the points your having a go at me about, I'll stay in a good mood and leave it there.

Your right mate, after I read my own post it did sort of imply that was what you said. Sorry chum, you didn't.

  2. PLG was also a massive coup, I'll wait just a little bit.

Do you know what, Le Guen wasn't a mistake, it was actually an ambitious appointment of a highly regarded up and coming Manager.

It just didn't work out for various and much publicised reasons. It's easy to say it was a mistake but that's inaccurate, he just didn't succeed.

It's the same with this latest appointment, we just don't know how it ends yet.

  3. Nobody is making any judgements all you can do is employ a Management team that appear to have to right credentials and skills and hope they are successful.

That's what the board have done and they must be congratulated for having the ambition to do so.

Anyone commenting about reserving judgement etc is wallowing in their own negativity on a day when we should be happy to see another rebuilding brick put in place.

No one knows how the appointment will pan out in the end but there are no certainties regardless of who you appoint, be it Mourinho, Guardiola etc etc.

  4. Not a bad result but I was disappointed with Michael O'neills tactics and lack of reaction in the second half.

Romania were there for the taking and it feels a bit like an opportunity missed.

M'cauley was awful, Norwood and Dallas were contributing nothing and Ward was hard working but ineffective. The Manager should be efficiently identifying these things and making necessary adjustments. Instead he done nothing to try and effect the game?

For example It was a toss up between playing Dallas or M'ginn and when the chosen player is so ineffective during the game why not bring on the other after 60 mins or so in the hope of having a more effective impact? Frustrating.

Let's hope we don't come to regret not going for it when we had the chance.

  5. Most of the time you hear about Manchester its negative trash talking about trouble and rioting. But for the overwhelming majority like myself it was one of the most memorable days I've ever had out, for all the right reasons.

I watched the game in Albert square and didn't even know there was any trouble until seeing a paper the next day. The way it is reported is so ridiculous and out of context.

A tiny minority of fans were involved out of a staggering amount of people. The rest of us 150,000 or so had a good drink, partied, sang and celebrated in a sea of blue that will never be seen again.

  6. Even for the money we were paying over the last couple of seasons we could get a decent team sprinkled with a lot of upcoming talent. What we need is a Manager and scouting system that has a thorough knowledge of the lesser leagues of Europe such as Belgium, Eastern Europe, Norway, Sweden etc.

The most important thing is the quality of player we get. Speed, excellent technique, creativity, enthusiasm and good attitude are the essential qualities we need in each and every player we bring in. Alex Ferguson wouldn't have done any better with the players we had this season, but then again he also would never have signed them.

Ally M'coists biggest downfall was his inability to identify and source such qualities in players and instead employed a lazy and wholly misjudged policy of bringing in overpaid, under performing 'experience' with poor footballing ability.

So for me these are the attributes and visions any incoming Manager requires first and foremost.

  7. The main reasons you'll never get any serious reporting in Scotland on corruption / anything even slightly anti IRAceltic is due mainly to 3 individuals.

John Reid, Dermot Desmond and the most influential of them all Denis O'brien. They have such wealth, power and control that they are effectively untouchable and are all right at the core of the beast.

  8. Rangers are not an efficient tactically offensive side. We have spent so long under Ally etc playing with a negative mindset and approach to games that fluency and creative expression was being coached out of players at the club.

These inadeqacies were evident on Thursday as we were picked apart by a team that studied our weaknesses and exploited them. Now we find ourselves with a very difficult task to overcome and a tactical dilemma to solve.

Being two goals behind logic suggests we need to line up very attacking minded but IMO we would be in grave danger of falling into the same counter attacking trap again. Patience is the key for this game. We need to be solid as a unit, hard to break down and line up in a fashion that frustrates, forces Motherwell to take the initiative and commit men in an attacking sense.

Motherwell will start the game full of confidence and will no doubt be trying to get the first goal which will end any chance we have. The longer the game stays 0-0 the more it suits us and at some stage the whole impetus will change, seeing us giving them both barrels. Keep it tight in the first half, hit them on the break and run them ragged in the second half.

With a bit of fortune and the first goal this can be done.
