Is a Marquee signing not just buying a rich Samaras ?
I hope the Marquee signing is a helluva lot better than Samaras!!!!
I'll second a few posters, who stated that as long Aly signs the right players, I don't care if we've heard of them before or not. How many of us thought Jelavic would do as well as he did, when he first arrived at Ibrox?
I think a Jelavic-Miller partnership for an entire season would produce a boatload of goals.
Wouldn't it help the team more if they acquire players before the CL qualifiers?
Can't wait for the 23rd!

I'm not sure, I think the big fish, small pond suits him. I think he thrives on being the main man, which he won't get at Liverpool.
I've a horrible feeling it all might end it tears for Charlie. Hope I'm wrong though.
I agree. Gerard will have the ball most of the time. It'll be interesting to see what happens with Charlie.

I'd gladly take Kevin Thomson back, don't think he would of been sold if we were in the position we are now.
I liked Thomson. But I wouldn't bring him back. He is very injury prone and I'd be very surprised if he plays the entire season (or most games this coming season).

I wonder what bosman or cheap SPL player we could get to replace him?
Kyle Hutton could take his place in a heartbeat!
-
Goodwillie has, I think, beenour number 1 target since the moment Kenny Miller left Ibrox as both WS and Ally would have wanted a proven out and out forward to partner big Jela up front. Despite his end of season form I still think Ally is far form convinced that Lafferty is goign to prove himself as a mainstay in the starting XI up front and it appears we are looking to bring in a striker with proven ability to lead the line along with Jelavic next year.
In addition to this I sincerely hoep there is another quality CM in our "top target" list as I think this is one area in which we dearly need a quality addition.
WELL SAID! Do you think Lafferty will be a Ger on September 1st?

From the video, and that's all I've seen of Hamed, it looks like he would be very similar to Jelavic. I think Rangers would be better off playing a striker with more speed beside or a bit behind or ahead of Jelavic.
If Rangers sign him, I'll support him!

Heard that Kenny says he isn't enjoying life in Turkey, anyone got any views on a move back to Ibrox?
Says on the beeb website today that he may return to Rangers.
I would take him back for a year or two. Miller won the SPL Golden Boot and he only played half the season with Rangers. Imagine him and Jelavic together for an entire season!

What club does Wendt play for? How old is he?
-
Played (plays?) for Beitar Jerusalem in Israel, signed a 1 year contract last season, so is available on a free as far as I'm aware.
What position does he play? Have you watched him play? And if so, more than once?

If we want to stay SPL champs new faces are needed 4/5 players that can go right into the 1st 11 and 3/4 squad players. I have always said if we could win this title we could put them away for years. Now is our chance.
One of the causes for Rangers victory this season, and perhaps last season, was continuity and chemistry. If the club brings in 4 or 5 starters then it will take some time for them to gel and thereby possibly not be ready for the early Champions League games. Also, if Whyte gives Shagger, Davis, and Papac new deals then that'll eat at some of the 10 million, not leaving enough for 4/5 starters.
I hope your theory is correct (regarding winning the league this season would finish them for years!).
-
I don't want Barry to return, however he is still better than Edu. Let's hope for Eck that Birmingham remain in the Premiership.
-
Can we start poll--if he signs will Gers keep Shagger, yes or no?
After all, Whyte has said he'd invest 25 million pounds over 5 seasons and 5 million a season isn't enough to improve the squad.
-
Had Naismith or Lafferty scored (or both of them for that matter). Would you still say the midfield was shite? I agree Edu was rank. But to me the score could've been 2/3 nil at the half.

Jozef ratzinger - vatacian city FC. An experienced campaigner but could maybe add some thing :-)
-
Has anyone watched Goodwillie and Conway enough to have a good idea that they'd be good additions to the squad?

None of the current Arsenal goalies are at this level and neither is McGregor.
While I agree McGregor is a better keeper than the current Arsenal keepers, I wonder if Arsenal has the money to spend or would spend a lot on a keeper as they are still paying for Emirates. They will likely lose Cesc in the summer, so I'd think they'd want to get another attacking midfielder (yes they could go with Wilshere or Ramsey but will they?). It seems to me Arsenal could use another striker too as Bendter just doesn't seem to have it.

I'd happily let Lennon have the treble if we won the Europa league
As much as I'd love it if Gers won Europa League, it's not going to happen.I'd rather win the league and put a dagger in Celtic. Remember they're in deep financial trouble too and a season with no CL money could be dire for them. Also, it'll make it that much harder for them to get better players this summer.
-
No he isn't.
He's still a terrible referee.
-
My team would be
McGregor
Whittaker Bougherra Weir Papac
Bartley
Weiss Davis Hutton Diouf
Jelavic
A 4-1-4-1 formation.
I like the lineup you've selected. I'd pick Hutton over Edu any day of the week!

More concerned about the Killie game at Ibrox than this game.
Eremenko received a straight red yesterday. I believe that means he'll miss playing oor Gers. If that's the case they'll beat Killie, and am actually quite confident, despite today's poor performance, that they'll beat Killie even if Eremenko plays.
-
We will get hammered by PSV then go on to win the league and the Cup.
-
Not one can....and has been the case since.....Albertz?
I agree our free kicks have been atrocious for some time but Nando scored a number of free kick goals one season.
-
Anyone know when Captain Kirk will return?
I've read some posts about him tonight but I wonder if he'd be an improvement over those who've played at the back since he's been out of action for so long.
-
I wish Bougherra hadn't grabbed Murray's hand while the ref was trying to pull the card out. No way a player should be touching the referee, even when the referee has had a terrible game.
It seemed to me when I've heard Hateley at the half he's sounded too much like he was trying not to sound pro Rangers. This was a few seasons back (maybe more than 2 or 3).
It sounded to me like Bain will actually stand up for Rangers when they meet with the SFA, the polis and the gov't.
It's been said before, but we need foreign refs for the OF matches. Just not sure from where.
What Is Steven Naismith's Role This Season?

I'd like Lafferty to get a good run in the lineup too but he's out injured. What's the latest on his injury?
I thought Ness is an attacking midfielder, as is Davis. Shouldn't the other central midfielder be a holding midfielder (probably McCulloch, if not him Hutton).
