  1. I know a few who have tried it but came back to our RSC. No issues with the quality, just wanted to watch with like minded bears and have a little bit of atmosphere. The reason that many of us are on RM is to communicate with like minded bears when you are so far from home, so when in Orlando I think nothing of the 30 mile drive to The Fox and Hounds spending however much I spend, just to be in the company of people I can relate to. I't's difficult to get any good football talk with Americans.

Just not much of an option for me anymore, mate. It costs too much money. I can't afford it. And I hate giving my money to SATANta sports.

  2. Like in any sport, pre-season games are often more about gaining fitness and shaking off rust, as well as individual player evaluation. The manager/coach will often not play for the win or the score, but will try different tactics, formations and plays to see how individual players perform. The results don't mean a bloody thing.

Rangers gained more than a dozen points on Celtic in the second half last year. And Rangers have more quality in the side now than last year, and start the year with a better manager than last year.

There is planety of reason for optimism.

  3. Try livefootballonline .com it cost me 20pound per year and I live in Canada. I get all games that are televised by Setanta and with the help of one wire attached to the laptop I CAN DRAG IT ONTO MY 44INCH TV. AND GET A GOOD QUALITY PICTURE.

Is it legal? The Lord* and I have an understanding that I do not, under any circumstances, ever feckin do anything illegal unless the law is unjust.

*My God doesn't require a human mediator. I go straight to my heavenly mediator. :pipegreen:

  4. My feeling is, any team that Walter selects,McCulloch is going to be one of the first names on the team sheet, and I for one will have no quarrel with that, strange though how most Bears still think Boyd will be the answer at striker?

Boyd averages a goal per appearance in Scotland, was the leading scorer in the SPL last year, and hasn't had many Euro appearances. Tough to give the man any stick, wouldn't you say?

  5. Has anybody in Canada/US tried this to watch a game? If so, what's the quality like?

Where have you been hiding DD?have been thinking about it myself,$247.for 38 games in North America

We could by-pass Setanta(what were Rangers thinking about dealing with them?),and get the games on the internet, then direct it on to our big screen. I'm not sure if it is as easy as that, but I am checking it out.(tu)

Ran into a situation with my job, which shouldn't be discussed online. Anyway, it got to the point where I couldn't justify the amount of money I was spending. One year I calculated that with my membership, weekly fees, and food, I'd spent over $1200 to watch games on television. I can't justify that. For $1200 I could feckin get on a plane and have a week in Scotland and watch a couple of games live. There's just no way I'm doing that anymore, especially with the issues that our boys have had with SATANta.

I need to be able to spend as little as may be, so being able to pick and choose which games I watch online for $10 each seems just the ticket, if the quality is good.

  6. This american guy I know says niether Celtic or Rangers are known in america, Celtic go over there but people dont take notice - he says barely anyone even knows who Chelsea are and the only shirts you can really buy without much hastle are Real Madrid and Man Utd

Your American friend is a little off the mark. Unless he lives in South Dakota.

Certain markets in the US have a large football following.

Here in Canada, a Rangers shirt is one of the most difficult to get, while most sports shops sell celtic shirts.

  7. I think that the concept that there is a "lack of quality" is one that depends greatly on perspective. Rangers are a big club in a pish league. Players that are good enough to do well in that pish league are all we can expect at Rangers from now until there are major changes in the sport.

So with that perspective in mind, I think the team looks fairly good. We simply cannot judge players like Burke, Hutton, Boyd et al in comparison to the flashy names you see on the telly every day in Europe. It's not like that for us anymore. It's not going to be. Our aim is to win the SPL and get to the final 16. Do that and it's a magnificent year in any year.

So, no, I do not think our team lacks quality.

  8. ...........................Mac...........................

    Hutton........Ceullar.......Weir..........Smith

    .................Bazza.........Thomson............

    ..........................Buffel.........................

    ........JCD.............Boyd..........Beasley....

Subs :- Carrol, Webster, Hemdani, Gow, McCulloch, Burke, Sebo

With everyone fit, and with the signings to date, I reckon thats a dam strong line up and a bit of strength in depth on the bench too.

    :rangers:

That doesn't look too bad at all. I've never been a bug Buffel fan, though. He's a bit lightweight. Easy to take off the ball. I do like our depth on the bench in that scenario, however. Always felt that wee Chris Burke was a but under-rated. Just my narrow view though.

  9. Every summer I see that Celtic end up playing friendlies in North America. Rangers end up over here once every few years. Meanwhile, football is growing here quite steadily. I was at a few of the U-20 World Cup games in Edmonton these past few weeks. Saw Celtic shirts fkn everywhere. made me sick. I was the only guy there (that I saw) representing the real Scottish team. I'm convinced that Celtic cater to their fans in NA, and are committed to growing more. Rangers don't seem to give a flying **** about NA.

    Am I right, or wrong.
