  1. hopefully he is just still getting his fitness back .. he has had a couple of weeks less pre-season than the rest so hopefully the sloppyness is just a lack of match fitness and once he gets that we will have the old reliable bougherra back

  2. imho we should cash in on Fleck while we still have the chance before he throws away the potential he has and with it a few million we could get for him!

maybe the bears that go there can confirm this but I have heard that Fleck is regulary in The Tunnel getting pissed ... I got told this by the father of a motherwell 1st team player ... no idea if true or not but the guy is a Rangers man so doubt he would just be saying it and according to the stories in the press Rangers are concerned about his on and off field attitude so it could be very true that we have a major problem with Fleck and could see the most promising player to come out our youth system amount to nothing ...

  3. These two, Velicka in particular, are conspicuously under the radar at the moment.

All the hype of the new season surrounds the return of Thomson, the recovery of Edu, the potential of Lafferty and Whittaker, and the future of Bougherra.

But these two barely merit a mention. Now I will admit I've seen Naismith mentioned the odd time, but it amazes me that Velicka came in for the last 10 games or so, frankly had superb form in which his scoring rate was simply fantastic including the odd brilliant goal like his thunderbolt at Easter Road, but has been completely dismissed since it.

He got dropped for no good reason, and while ultimately we won the league, does anyone else feel he's been rather poorly treated?

What of Naismith, any expectations regarding him?

was there not a story that Velicka came down with some virus just before the Hibs game and got subbed at halftime because he was throwing up? quite sure that was the reason he didnt play after that match.

According to Laffertys interview in the E.T. today Velicka has come back to pre-season in great shape .....

"Boydy, Kenny, Nacho and Naisy all have so much quality and Andrius has come back this summer and is in great shape. He really has shown why Rangers bought him and has looked brilliant.

"Last season a lot of people doubted him but he came in at the end and hit the net in four consecutive games when we needed to get results.

"In pre-season you can see he is buzzing and that he wants to play a big part when the matches get underway."

  4. Because fans that live in the country are far more important, because it's season tickets and Europe that get us money rather than a few shirt sales in other countries.

You seem to think we could make millions or something, when in fact, we'd make barely anything.

we could make a tidy sum from tv rights to our games could we not? couple of million from shirt sales if Edu were to become a 1st team regular with rangers and a top player for the US. done correctly I would say we could make more from the US market than we make from the champions league.

  5. Most clubs of our size and in our financial plight blood 4 good youngsters a season, not 4 good youngsters a decade.

and how long would it take our support to get on these youngsters backs if things werent going well?? we have already show time after time that we as supporters do not have the patience to allow youngsters to develop in the 1st team! We expect to win every match and a team with 3-4 youngsters will struggle to do that!

the pressure and expectations of playing for the rangers 1st team is something even seasoned professionals struggle to cope with! It requires a certain maturity and strength of character to deal with the instant stardom that comes with playing for rangers and not every youngster has this!

imho , it would not only be benefical to Rangers but to scottish football if the old firm were to be allowed to have a B side in the spl2 that cant get promoted! This would allow us to develop our youngsters further without having to loan them out and prepare them better for the step up! this will however not happen and therefore we will continue to loan our youngsters out to get 1st team experience and if they show they can handle regular 1st team football they will return to ibrox! Afterall we are not Man Utd that has 8 world class players on the field to guide the youngsters through the match , nor are we hibs who can lose 6 games on the trot without broken club crests being plastered all over the papers!

  6. Fernando Torres would score for fun in the SPL - infact it would be embarrassing watching him take apart every defence and putting the ball in ther back of the net!

Were we not linked with Torres during the Advocaat years, he was recomended by Arteta?

mcleish signed arteta so no idea why arteta would be recommending Torres to advocaat!

  7. imo miller has been a good signing! still dont like him but he his making a positive impact upfront and the team is playing well.

it is about time we dropped it as a topic! the feelings of everyone are quite clear on this and are not going to change irrespective of millers future performances. we all know that certain people look at this site and will use such threads to make statements about how certain sections of the rangers support will never accept miller etc. Whether you like him or not he is going to be a 1st team regular under WS and we all should accept this and get behind the team.

  8. This is good news indeed, no reason why we can't have our sponsor and UNICEF on our tops.

definetly! we could put the UNICEF logo on the back of the tops or on the sleeves! a lot of Austrian teams have multiple sponsors plastered all over their shirts and shorts which looks awfull but done in a decent manner it would be a great way of showing our support of a great charity and raising more funds for it!

  9. I understood it, i think the guy was actually agreeing with you Jim. His point was basically saying that celtic are worse than scum.

Oh he wasn't agreeing with me mate.

I've put Rangers to shame apparently

I was indeed agreeing with you mate :) sorry ... should maybe have put a smiley or two in to make that more clear!

bit about headline was aimed at press and celtic are worse than scum!

    :rangers:

btw ... last time i fucking agree with you :)

  10. Imagine your phone going off an a bus wae a couple a septic fans oan it. The look oan there face would be priceless.

imagine your phone going off on the bus and a couple of septic fans set about you.

Sniff sniff, I smell a fenian.

na i'm no a fenian just making that i mite be a bad idea to have it a your ringtone. people have been murdered in glasgow for less

Oh noez, the big bad septics r cuminz.

bit unfair guys! livvyblue has got a point! Unless your built like a tank and or can handle yourself against a needle wielding unwashed thing you might be better off not! I , with my 65kg and limited fighting ability will stick to the nokia tune!

  11. does anyone think if he was given a chance that he would turn out good?

IF he put his head down and worked he would be quite good..

I remember watching him vs East Fife at Ibrox and he had some good touches and looked quite pacy..

half the guys on hear would look quite pacy and have some good touches against east fife!

end of the day walter saw him every day at training and certainly got the reports from his exploits in the reserves.

only guys on here who can really judge whether he deserved a shot in the 1st team are the ones who go along to the reserve matches and from what they say he certainly wasnt doing anything in the reserves to merit a start in the 1st team!

btw ... who would you actually be looking to drop from the 1st team to accomadate GOW?

  12. To be honest death sweeps are nothing new. Hardly news material.

I'd like to start one when Lennon a) next gets a deserved doing or b) sends threatening texts to a woman pregnant to his child.

well done sir! That´s you on the front page now!! "BIGOTED RANGERS THUG ENCOURAGES FURTHER ATTACKS ON LENNON WITH FINANCIAL INCENTIVE"

Many of you describe them as scum but calling them that is insulting scum! just refer to them as celtic supporters - there is nothing in this world lower or more disgusting than that !

  13. You could only verify this if you got the text. Did anyone at Clyde get it? We'll never know, but it's an unverifiable one, unless you get it, so Clyde and Martin may have made it up. You couldn't be surprised, given Clyde's previous.

    good point oleg!

Out of interest anyone on here recieved it?

  14. was listening on the way to work! Apparently another address is doing the rounds with the message " Now we know where he lives let's hound him" ! I went past a HGV just as the name was said so didn't hear who it was! been lookin on all the sites and cant find anything else about it anywhere! Anyone know who it is or am I imagining it?

P.S. newsreader said address is in the west end

  15. He's not as bad as some make him out to be but this has to be his last season in a Rangers jersey.

His pace, power and movement causes teams trouble and that was clear to see on Sunday. The amount of times he troubled van Zanten, Hogg and Jones with his drifting out wide and closing down was unreal. He also creates a lot of space for players to run into. He's a tricky player to play against but I wish he'd find the right fukn boots.

The Darcheville_Miller partnership was pretty effective and it's one I'd keep for the match at Love Street. Don't see the point in stop starting him. Either drop him for good or give him a good run out in matches.
