  1. Hwo do you check that mate? Sounds interesting.

Easiest way is to check the offical one @RFC_Official and check who it is following. Club officials start with @rfc_ then a name so always good to get the goss from Murray Park etc. Then you get lots of re-tweets etc and can decide if there's anyone else interesting you might like to follow. Don't use it myself for tweeting, only browsing!

  2. I dont know anything about twitter, does it have a news channel on there?

TBH I just follow the football ones, mainly Rangers stuff. Lots of Rangers staff and players on now as well as the official RFC one. Plus Gersnet, STV etc and I think I'm pretty well covered for Rangers news!

  3. Books? DS Brain training setting you up for a good days graft? IPAD and come on here? :)

Anything but giving your hard earned to those who hate you.

I do have a quick browse on here and Twitter first thing to catch any breaking news. Newspaper in morning for catch up on sports/news. Book and snooze on the way home!

  4. stopped buying the rag years ago, do not buy any propaganda papers AT ALL

See, my problem is my commute to work takes about an hour so I like to catch up with all the sports news on the way. The Sun is a comic so I don't buy that. Despite it's flaws I usually buy the Record. Although I didn't this morning due to this ridiculous sensationalist full page headline which I wasn't going to contribute 40p of my hard-earned for! So what did I do instead? Picked up the Express (without looking at the back) and it says "KICK THE GERS OUT"! doh

Still was only half a page high rather than the full page in the Record wacko.gif

    So any suggestions?

  5. Any confirmation to when he will actually arrive. Assuming the work permit is granted I hoped to see him in the team on Sunday. Press reports seem to suggest he will stay in Oz to prep for the upcoming internationals though and it might be early September before we see him :anguish:

    Anyone know any different?

  6. TBH I don't think there is any point rushing someone in now to play in the game tomorrow. Obviously this means no new faces before the return leg but hopefully the injury situation will have cleared up a bit by then.

We still need an experienced CB, there is no point bringing in Wilson on a loan deal alongside another loanee in Bartley, or Bocanegra who just looks like a panic buy. My preference would be to bring in Cuellar even if he is still a few weeks away from playing. Decent business if we can get him for £2m as long as wages aren't the obstacle. I also see him as a potential captain. With or without Cuellar we have Goian, Bartley, Weir and Perry which isn't ideal but is at least sustainable in the SPL.

Midfield looks covered with the introduction of McKay and Bedoya whenever he arrives. The priority has to be a forward thinking player, either a CF to play alongside Jelavic or cover if Jela isn't playing, or a winger. I was pretty excited at the thought of getting Verhoek but that's dead in the water, hopefully we have other options there.

Anyway we need to support the team and the manager, the situation is what it is. If Whyte doesn't have the cash to back up his statements this will be apparent by 1st September then we can aim our protests his way, not at the team.

  7. At today's press conference. Just awaiting permit. In case anyone didn't believe it yesterday.

Oh I wanted to believe it but the way the goalposts have been moving all over this transfer window I wouldn't have been convinced until he was on the official site with the top on!

Cracking bit of business though, look forward to seeing him in the Royal Blue.

    Welcome Matt McKay :21:

  8. This every single day of the week

or Hutton next to Davis and Mckay Left.

It says a lot that our Manager won't pick this 4 together at all.

You can hardly blame Ally for not playing a player we haven't signed yet doh

But that would be my midfield too provided all were available. Or Ortiz for Naismith if he's still partnering Jelavic up front.

  9. BRISBANE ROAR may be about to lose one of the stars of the A-League, but the club's prospective new foreign owners are believed to be willing to bankroll a big-name replacement for departing skipper Matt McKay.

McKay, currently in Cardiff where he is preparing to play for the Socceroos in tomorrow's friendly international against Wales, is all but certain to join Scottish giants Rangers by the end of the week, with only work permit issues holding up the deal. Brisbane will lose their star attraction for what's believed to be a $500,000 transfer fee, and with the club currently under the control of cash-strapped Football Federation Australia, the concern for coach Ange Postecoglou is whether he would be given the cash for a suitable replacement.

In the 18 months since he took charge, Postecoglou has seen $2m worth of talent head overseas without the money being re-invested in the squad. Despite those restrictions, he managed to guide the Roar to the championship on the back of a record unbeaten run. Still, the loss of McKay is a potentially decisive blow - not just in terms of defending the domestic title, but also making an impact in next year's Asian Champions League.

    Doesn't that story sound familiar!!

    :craphead:

Anyway the more I hear of this boy the more worried I become we haven't got him yet. Sign him up Ally!!

  10. I would love to see John Fleck do well in the first team given the hype that has followed him since he was about 15. I believe though this has held him back and he has maybe thought he's arrived without really proving it.

Best case scenario for him this season is a few sub appearances and maybe a couple of starts in the early rounds of the cups. Would this really help his development, confidence and desire?

I really don't think so therefore a loan move might be the best thing for him and us. If he plays regularly, and well for Blackpool then its win win all round. Plus once he gets a look around Blackpool's stadium and surroundings he might remember just what he has here and motivate him to return here and do well.

  11. He talks about at least 6 offers out there ... well we know of cuellar (bid accepted by villa), bedoya (on a pre contract and have anonoffer for him now), veroek (negotiations ongoing), juhasz (negotiations ongoing)

The other 2 could be anyone's guess

Murray Davidson is one. A decent CF to complement Jelavic better be the other!
