  1. just to say, my above post does not mean i want rid of davis, i hope he stays here for years, it was just a random question, lol. couldn't think of who else might interest spurs. maybe mcgregor.lol

  2. Mendes would flourish in Europe with the space play Beasley wide LM and watch Davis/Mendes/Thomson/Edu pick passes out to him

sounds good, i think we need dmb, possibly 5 man midfield with above mentioned 4, davis right, edu, thommo, mendes in middle and beasley left. strong midfield for us i think. because we all know its going to be a 4-5-1 in europe so this midfield is ideal. miller alone up front, i'm not sure about, hopefully boyd can improve playing alone and we might do ok!!

  3. hutton right back with whitts in front of him and davis in the middle

    mouth watering

thumbs up to that, remember when we beat falkirk 7-2, hutton layed rb and whitts ahead and they were really good together!

  4. No, I think Davis will be at the centre of any success we have over the next few seasons and there isn't a single player in the squad who I value higher than him at the moment. It's a shame we probably can't have both of them though.

your right, we would be so strong with hutton, altho nothing away from whittaker but hutton was immense the last season with us

  5. our key players will be

    the keeper

    bougherra

    edu

    thomson

    and our striker whoever plays

but its a team game and all 11 must be ready.

players with no pace are no use in europe. weirs been found out, adam no good, mcculloch is crap, dailly is a let down, boyd no use against best defenders, they eat him up easy, we dont have the technical ability to make up for that lack of pace. signings will be crucial. quote from walter smith "any player coming into the club will have to be better than what we have"........im excited, maybe none of us know who our key players will be yet.

    mon the gers

you could be right mate. just dont see what cl quality players we can afford.

dont you worry about that buddy, thats upto the club

the players are out there, its our scouts, chief exec and gaffers job to go get them

    (tu)

lol true enough mate. we just have turn up on the euro nights at ibrox and enjoy ourselves! (tu) cant wait!!

  7. We need pace, especially away from home.

If Charlie Adam/Lee McCulloch play in those 'attacking wide midfield' roles, we'd be as well listening to Broadfoot and not turning up :anguish:

lol i agree, although i dunno if anyone else agrees but i think adam did ok in cl 2 years back, lol

He did, but he's totally fucking lost it mentally since then.

And I agree with your fellow island DBBTB that we need a powerful, experienced target man up front.

    Kris Boyd, Iain? :pipe:

he is defo worth the chance, he has not had his chance in europe so i think so!!

  8. I think in short over the years, JJB have screwed us over, BIG TIME! Can't wait till the contract with them is over with

any idea how long left? bring back the rangers shops on the high street!

Haha not till 2016 but the way things are going these days you could probably expect the contract to be ripped up soon ie. Setanta

oh man long time, cant blame murray for signing up to it though for the money side of things, but i think the rangers shops must have made more revenue for us?

not sure what he is like after loan spell, he looks in better shape, but still not good enough!lol i dunno who is available that we can afford for striker, someone like marlon harewood would be ideal, if he played like his west ham days. big and strong target man.

I just don't think he has the mentality to consistently perform for a club like Rangers over a long period of time.

He needs to be the 'big fish in a little pond', ie St Mirren and Blackpool, for him to do so.

suppose, someone of his build though would be ideal, dunno who else, any suggestions?

I've had to carry a young and pissed Charles off the road in Magaluf. I can confirm to you that his build is anything but ideal!

lol sorry i changed the post, i thought u meant harewood was a big fish in small pond!!haha i meant his build!! not adam! lol

  12. Welcome to RM mate :D

ye we need Mcgreggor .. That save against werder bremen to keep us in the eufa cup was amazing :D

Alexander has done a great job though

thanks mate, yeah that was brilliant, also in le guens time i remember a couple of amazing saves, cant remember who against possibly hapoel tel aviv i'm not sure but i remember he played a blinder!lol not disagreeing, alexander helped alot in getting us to uefa cup final so its good to have 2 quality keepers.

  14. Pretty sure Alexander keeps the #1 jersey until he messes up big time.

Keeper is vital .. so are Magic, Weir and Mendes. We will be defending most of the time...but I'd play Boydy. Just a half chance and he will do the business (usually). So.. since we're sitting back all the time Boyd plays for me -- with Miller. If these guys play out of their skin, we might surprise a few teams. But it's a huge ask.

Can't wait... it's going to be fantastic.

probably, but think we should still go with mcgregor. boyd deserves his chance too, he has not been given much of a chance in europe so how do we know he cant do it? lol he did ok for scotland.

  15. I agree with you on this one. I like Alexander as well and think he is a very good keeper, but I really see McGregor as our #1 - on his day he's world class.

definately, but its good to know someone like alexander is waiting to come in if needs be. if greggs gets injures or suspended, lol! Nothing against weir, i think he would do a goo job in cl but think we may need a new cb for champs league, but dunno who we can afford or who is available,

  16. Use the head FFS. WE CAN'T AFFORD HIM!

some of these post are now so stupid its unreal. will people use their brain for once with these suggestions

ita people like your fault, taking the bait like.

We should ban you lot for making stupid fucking threads then.

    Grow up.

    shut up like

Why do you use like after every sentence?

Have you not been taught your English properly? It's about as accurate as these stupid fucking threads.

    lol

  17. Welcome to RM mate, hope you enjoy it!

I think for us, the key to success in Europe will be to show up and play as a team, in which everyone fights for the 10 others, as individually we won't be able to compete with most of the teams we are going to face.

Saying that, I also think the three DBBTB mentioned will be the backbone of that team. ;)

thanks mate, i agree too, miller played well for us in his first spell in europe, especially against monaco where he scored. i think beasley played well 2 years back against lyon, barca, stutgart. i like alexander but really think we need greggs, he has done so well for us in europe last few years, even his 1st season when le guen was there.
