  1. i dont go for this "needs a rest" pish.

most of the RangersMedia football team lads work 5/6 days a week, play 5s/7s/train most nights every week, play a saturday afternoon and then get stuck in again on a sunday.. why? because we want to.

Not because we're playing the club we love and grew up supporting (nor because we're getting paid silly money to do so) and you'll never hear of any of us needing 'rested' unless actually carrying an injury.

Walters made a bit of a baws up here IMO, the lads been playing well and like any players whos been doing that will be high on confidence, this will be nothing but a knock for him. I just hope he doesnt come back and cant get involved again (infact i just hope he's back!)

There is a small difference, in that your playing at a level well below even national level. Performing any activity at elite level tends to expose any weakness or deficiency much more readily compared to lesser competition. If Ness was playing in the rangers media team he'd be able to get stuck in just the same without any tiredness coming to the fore. Check that against the champions league or the uefa cup.

  2. Pavlik was an alcoholic and 2 weight divisions below him, and Tarver was past it/too focused on being in that Rocky film at the time.

I'll admit the Pascal fight was impressive though.

Hopkins is an ATG, and any victory over him is an impressive one, He is a career middle, as is Pavlik, which makes doing what he did against Taver and Pascal all the more impressive. The Pascal fight is over two and a half years after Calzaghe handled him in a more convincing fashion.

Bottom line is Eubank, Kessler, Hopkins, Lacy, Sheika, Brewer and even Woodhall represent a CV that tops almost any other British fighter of the modern era, and if DeGale can rack up a few even close to this calibre, he'll be doing well.

To write off Calzaghes career as one manufactured on nobodies and old dudes is comedy.

  3. I think Khan is fantastic but he never fought anyone of any calibre for at least his first 15 fights. The first half decent guy he fought was Limond and he nearly sparked him. He has came a very long way since then though (tu)

I admit I kinda of forgot Hamed, he was a superstar and I would prob rate him eachy peachy with DeGale.

Thats some high praise for James. Hamed all day for me, but hey ho.

  4. In terms of pure boxing telent then DeGale is right up there with Khan and Lewis.

Haye is good but relies too much on power, Calzaghe was made to look better than he was by fighting nobodies (apart from Lacy) and guys past their prime (Eubank, Hopkins, Jones Jr),

A touch harsh on Calzaghe I feel. Eubank had plenty left and was a good victory, dominated Lacey which you acknowledge, soundly defeated Kessler. Hopkins schools Pavlik, Tarver and Jean Pascal after Calzaghe so not too shabby. Not to mention some underrated scalps like Brewer and Sheika.

Edit: just checked and Tarver and Winky Wright were actually Hopkins 2 fights and wins before Calzaghe.

  5. Tell me someone with more natural talent then? Khan is very talented but not as much as DeGale IMO.

Hamed had bigger potential than Degale at the same stage in their careers. At this stage Khan was obliterating opponents more impressively, save a few wobbles. Ditto Hatton. Darren Sutherland who Degale defeated at the olympics actually looked the better prospect before his suicide.

But I do agree he has an excellent future ahead of him if he keeps his feet on the ground.

  6. nope they dont count

he can switch if he wants to

and if levein can convince him to then fucking go for it, he looks like he could become better than fletcher and most other mid we have at our disposal

I'm not at all for win at all costs when part of the cost is pride. Playing people who have never been in the country on the strength a granny is bad enough, but taking back treacherous lepers at their behest is a no-go in my book.

  7. If you knew the slightest thing about Rangers you would know that it represents much more.

Did I say this was all it represented? Fuck me. He says he hates Scotland and agrees it's a shithole. Yet is a supporter of a team founded by Scotsmen, run and predominantly supported by Scotsmen which is also based in Scotland, which then begs the question, what exactly is it about the place which inspires hatred?

  8. I don't live in Scotland.

I support Linfield over here. Since we're taking things back though. I want all of our songs back, as the majority of you have clearly never even visited the places you sing about.

Rangers are a team which represents Glasgow and Scotland. Take your fuckin precious songs and get to.

Edit: That shitty team will pump N.I

  9. Anybody know if and when khan and bradley fight each other, will they be fighting for ring magazine? Its lying vacant since pacquiao vacated it after he won it off hatton, not sure how they work it,

I think after a title is vacated, a new champion can then only be crowned if the no.1 and no.2 ranked fighters square off. If I'm not mistaken Bradley will now be the Ring mag champ.
