  1. Yes. Remembering his first stint, I didn't want him back, and I've seen nothing to suggest that he has learned anything in the intervening years.

He has learned a style of play to use in Europe.

He already knew how to win domestic trophies.

The stick Smith is getting lately is way way OTT.

He has his faults, I aint in the “Watty is a legend and is untouchable group”.

    But a bit of realisation.

He has been a better manager since he came back than when he was with us the first time.

Had he been ……French…..and had three initials and managed us as he has since he came back, I wonder if he would get the same stick from the same people….

  2. Laffertys biggest problem is that he is an instinctive player. He can produce moments that are verging on close to the genius, maybe a bit OTT but hey ho. His finish against Hearts was sensational IMO.

He isn’t a poacher or a natural goal scorer like Boyd. While the skill Boyd has is pretty much instinct and can’t be taught, you should be able to enhance that ability.

Lafferty should be more productive around the 18 yard box than he is, there is a massive hole in his development, which you can either blame the player or management for.

  3. Yep. Your stupidity deserved it.

    ;)

I will add stupid to the list of things I am happy to be then.

Paul Lambert for Rangers managers, should be ashamed of yourself for making such a comment.

I am stunned, genuinely stunned to see a Rangers fan suggest it, even if it was in jest. Which is must be, as no self respecting Rangers fan would seriously suggest that Paul Lambert take charge of Glasgow Rangers.

  4. Pathetic, there is no point debating.

You probably have no idea Lambert comes from a Rangers supporting family. Managing Rangers FC would make them so proud.

    I couldn’t give a f*ck.

Paul Lambert comes from a “Rangers supporting family” yet signed for them.

I would doubt I would be back at Ibrox as long as he was in charge – I am happy to be pathetic if not wanting Lambert as our manager is what makes me pathetic.

  5. First off, Walter is and has been legendary for us, there can be no doubt.

However, when he goes, I'm looking forward to a general increase in our technical ability and mentality, for all Walter's strengths, these are lacking.

Last night's goal was the first header from a corner I can remember us scoring since maybe Jig's at the dump last season? Our set-pieces have been woeful and I think that has something to do with the training setup.

Getting players like Weiss and Diouf in have helped, but we rarely have anyone making a real run and attacking the ball.

The direct result of Smith's well-reported rough and ready training methods are injuries aplenty, minimal technical ability and set piece mayhem.

Next season, those are the three areas that will show if McCoist has any nous, or even a set of eyes and can think for himself.

It's up to you Super Ally.

    Agree 100%.

If McCoist is to take charge he should be judged as being his own man rather than Smiths assistant.

The two, are completely different jobs.

  6. Graeme Souness

    Owen Coyle

    David Moyes

    Paul Lambert

    Billy Davies

    Ian Holloway

    Neil Warnock

i would even take Sam Allardyce before Ally.

I wish Ally would go somewhere else and manage before coming back to take the Rangers, let us see what he can do before giving him the keys to Murray Park.

Its all opinions and im fully expecting to be slaughetred for choosing 2 former Celtic players and 1 out and out tim. I dont care.

If we are going to go with someone other than McCoist can we at least come up with imaginative suggestions.

    Paul Lambert? FFS.

  7. as i said last night, i couldnt care if the manager was a jim henson creation, i just want a manager that can see the problems on the pitch and take corrective action right away

how many managers (including the wee ginger rat) have wee seen change the game against us when it isnt going to plan

Quite possibly, however not many have been able to put the plan in place to counter act it.

  8. To many players have escaped their share of the blame for our recent performances.

It is easy to blame Smith and Weir for us “sitting deep”.

If players were applying themselves correctly on the park, there would be no need for us to “sit deep”.

One or two should take a look at EHD, if they went on the park with his attitude we would see a different team.

  9. ok maybe not to many pen shoot outs but it was negative crap all the way to the final except the sporting mistake, sure smith was bealing whittaker was that far up the pitch on his tod!! :sherlock:

It was constructive counter attacking football actually, and at times it was a joy to watch.

  10. Neither Edu or Lafferty have progressed in the way most hoped they would when they were signed. IMO management need to look at them self and ask why.

As both have the tools to be decent players but look like they lack direction.
