This guy doesn't sound too much different than some of our "highly regarded" bidders, lads: LA Weekly - Josh Macciello
-
Finally get a game on proper TV and a storm comes through, takes out the dish...
-
We need some NA Bears to get on with RforR, bulk of orders coming from abroad right now. Gotta show'em we can make a difference too, lads!
-
Their banner ads all week had "Dundee v. Rangers". #YDKWYD

Because he wants to get the fans involved is a Rangers man and when he was on the board he reduced half the debt.
Walter smith has spoke about him in good terms and so has Ally McCoist. So i would much rather trust P.Murray than the rest, as i know fuck all about the rest.
Everyone who was part of the board that Lloyds was in charge of can claim that. That's not an accomplishment.
I hear very little substance regarding the tax bill et al, a lot of names involved and backing, a group in bed with Whyte happy to hop on the train, and an insistence that this deal gets rammed through before whether he or King can actually be on the board is answered.
-
I may be stepping out here from the herd, but what is the fascination with Murray and King's bid? Why the blinders on? These were men privy to every dirty detail that brought us to our knees.
I dunno, I try to stay out of the way on these things because they tend to become flame wars, but for my money Kennedy's by far the safest bet of the three so far.

Why have the SFA SPL and any other cunt who wants to join not investigated this guy?
Why have they not made a statement about how he isn't a fit and proper person to be in charge of a football club?
I tweeted Stewy Roogan the very same yesterday. Surprisingly no response.

I guess I can now say that we're the RSC behind Rags for Rangers, just in case someone hasn't yet seen the other thread. Pretty doubtful but eh.
Also worth noting that for every sale of the GSMRSC shirt I'm ponying up an additional $0.50 for donations out of pocket. Not much but it's a bit more.
-
He's my preferred bidder at the present moment over the other bid.
Likewise. Transparent, understands that operating a sports club is not the same as operating a business, seems to give a toss if we come out of this returned to glory or just paying the bills.
-
If it's well managed (minimum requirement they actually pay the income tax) then I don't see why it couldn't work for both parties
The problem is still the question of working capital and liquid assets available to the club directly, which is not something they do.
-
I thought he came in and made a complete hash of it then fucked off
Exactly.

The last time we entered in to something similar Rangers paid MIH for the management of the EBT...that worked out well for us!!
Actually though it is very common, Rangers and Club 9 would be looked at as two separate companies, and Rangers would pay Club 9 for their strategic expertise...similar to a consulting exercise. Basically if they do takeover, it is clear that it would be a turnaround project to sell on in the future; these annual fees would be a sort of safeguard for club 9 to ensure they get at least a minimum return on their investment.
But that is essentially how Craig Whyte has managed businesses in his career. If this is the worst of the bids then it's not so bad, but let's keep hoping.
-
They get the club for nothing, cut costs as low as possible, charge you hundreds of thousands to do so out of the money they've saved, then sell them on again
Effectively an administrator without court oversight.
-
This is a lot more C.Whyte-like than we'd want right now, methinks.
-
Am so excited, its like transfer deadline day all over again
Then this is like the Juan Ortiz signing.

Who owns these guys?
The McCasky family. Surely have nothing to do with this bid.
The group that owns the Cubs is more aptly described as a "sports specialist" ownership group, but I'd have a hard time seeing them branching out this far.***
***That is not Club9, so not relevant.

Absolute genius. Bravo

Can't remember the exact numbers involved, but Scottish and English refs are by a good distance the most underpaid refs among the major leagues in Europe. For the shit one has to deal with don't know how it's worth it unless you're picking up UEFA/FIFA assignments along the way.

Well in, have to admit my knowledge of the MLS is low
I'm sure most MLS fans knowledge of MLS is fairly low , but these Timbers Army folks are pretty solid people. I'm glad we're getting the opportunity to work together for some good causes.
-
Good luck with the project, mate!
Any chance of a Stars & Stripes with and RFC or something to that effect?
Can but ask.
We'll add it to the list. Working on another one right now. Thanks for the support!
-
Pretty sure i see an MLS team with Green and Yellow colours alluded to on the website there!!
Aye, managed by John Spencer and with a supporters' group with strong ties to Rangers. I'll quote the same email from the thread that got a little out of hand earlier, from a Timbers Army/107ist director:
The Timbers Army was originally named "Cascade Rangers" but changed the name to avoid picking sides between Celtic and Rangers (especially since early on we had some years where the kit was green hoops!). So the SG name was changed to Timbers Army, but there's a nod to the old Cascade Rangers name in the Timbers Army crest, where you can still see a small "CR" for Cascade Rangers.Colors aren't everything, especially if it can help both parties.
*That said, I don't wear anything green under any circumstances.

Shane from the Greater Smoky Mountain RSC here. I'm the man behind Rags for Rangers, a graphic designer and print/apparel broker by trade and lifelong Rangers supporter.
I was originally attempting to launch RforR as an initiative with the RSTs support, but there were reservations about our location and, of course, the very successful Red&Black campaign for them to consider. There were also reservations on our end in regards to a partnership, and, ultimately, with the advent of the RFFF we were more than happy to drop that pursuit in favor of the latter. So I've stuck it out on my own, a few days later than I hoped but it is live and running.
The ordering system embedded in the site only allows for individual orders at the moment, but we're working on that. If you're outside the US and are interested, here are some details about international shipping and ordering options.
Rags for Rangers is generating over $8.50 a shirt for the RFFF and RCF. We're also on the brink of announcing an exclusive partnership with an MLS supporters' group where funds will be split between the two, allowing us to latch into a new group of football fans that the existing initiatives would not have access to. You can probably venture a guess based off the shirts available who that club might be.
We'll be bringing more items in as we go along, and we plan on continuing this program well after we're back on our collective feet. So go take a look, you might find something you like.
Best,
Shane Nicholson

Match on a 7.30a here, so get up round 4.30 or so (assuming I sleep at all), make up the coffee, add the whiskey, do the eggs and all, make sure the wee man's good to go (hopefully sleeping through it since he's just 5 months), and get to it. Then celebrate the rest of the day.
