Don't think Dougie Bell played in the 86-7 League Cup Final.
Didn't play at all in the League Cup.

Which player won the League and League Cup with Rangers and the Scottish Cup with Aberdeen?
That was one of mine
Got it from a David Mason book. He gave the answer as Jim Forrest, which is correct, although Davie Robertson has also accomplished the feat. I'm not sure that Dougie Bell played enough games to win a League medal for Rangers. -

Scoured the web for this and eventually came back to one of your earlier posts on here.

That is fascinating stuff... And I believe it was a celebration match for Inverness finally discovering electricity!
Actually it was Caledonian FC's inaugural floodlighting switch-on and the team played a solid defensive 2-3-5 formation.
Some time ago we were asked if Celtic's Charlie Tully had ever played for Rangers. We replied that according to Celtic's official website that he had but that he had never played for Rangers in a first-class game. We still believe that to be the case. But a possible explanation for this, on the surface, highly unusual 'transfer' has been sent in by Trevor Larkin who explains thus:
" He may be referring to the occasion of Caledonian FC's floodlighting inauguration, when a Rangers/Celtic Select played at Telford Street Park, Inverness, on March 11th 1959.
SFA regulations of the time required all competing players to be signed to a single member club, so the five Celts selected for the occasion signed for Rangers and re-joined Celtic the following day. (One may ponder 'what if...'had Rangers refused to cancel the contracts thereafter!) Officially speaking, it was a Caley-Rangers friendly, albeit with a radically altered visitors lineup!
The Rangers/Celtic XI, who played in a Rangers strip of white shirts with blue/red hoops and white shorts, was as follows:
Beattie (Celtic); King (Rangers), Kennedy (Celtic); Crerand (Celtic), Paterson, Millar (both Rangers); Tully (Celtic), Baird (Rangers), Conway (Celtic), Queen, Hubbard (both Rangers).
Scot Symon managed the side, which beat Caley 4-2 (scorers Sammy Baird 3, Jim Conway; Caley scorers Rodwill Clyne and Jimmy Ingram) in front of an estimated 6,000 spectators.
I believe this where the Stag's head that is on display in the Ibrox Trophy Room comes from. Begs the question, if Rangers got the animal's head, what did Celtic get?

HuistraWatereus
Ricksen F de boer Konterman Numan
R de boer Gio ??? ???
Mols Van Vossen
That's a belter mate, stuck on CM and LM.
-
I reckon the Ballon d'Or began around the same time as the European Cup so possibly to late for him .Probably sound daft this , but Stanley Matthews.
Frank de Boer?
Edit: I'm wrong, good shout!
2 appearances and even won a Medal with the famous Glasgow Rangers
-
Bonus: Souness, Wilkins, Steven, Butcher and Francis? That is a cracker.
Jim Baxter, Willie Henderson and Paul Gascoigne?
Edit: Gazza's more likely to be in the bonus part
-
That is a cracker.
Jim Baxter, Willie Henderson and Paul Gascoigne?
-
Correct. (12th December 1971)
BMR can have this one
-
Alan Morton and Torry Gillick
-
If you got a good question RFCRussell go ahead.
(I already know the answer to mine. )
I'll be heading off for the night shortly. BMR had one if he wants to go for it.

You take it! I'm a nightmare at pulling up questions!
Although, just come to me now, which animal is connected with the name Ibrox??
Island of Badgers!
-
Bonnisel(Sp)?
Edited Hemdani for Fan-Fan
We have a winner.
Well done, mate.
-
I edited the post to include a sixth player.
Fab Fernandes.
Nope, signed by Advocaat.
-
Vignal, Hemdani (French-born), Pierre-Fanfan, Boumsong, Rodriguez, Bernard.
Hemdani played for Algeria, so wouldn't consider him French in football-terms.
-
French, or French Tunisian?
Boumsong for starters
Proper French. No Algerians either.
-
Going to give it to you mate, but there must clearly be more than 10....probably closer to 20
In addition to the ones you mention, I have: Mark Walters & Kyle Bartley...and Steve Earle also gave us Francis & Andy Gray!
Fire in mate!
Name 6 French players signed by McLeish for Rangers on permanent transfers or loans. Excluding youth players like N'Guessan and Kalenga.
-
OK, next question. I'll be honest, I'm not 100% on the exact answer and have been looking into it.
Anyway, here goes. (Rob Kiernan apart) I'm told that there are 10 (at least) players who have played for Rangers and either Birmingham, Aston Villa, West Brom and Wolves. Who are they? (I have 8 so far).
Willie Johnston, Kenny Miller, Chris Burke, Alan Hutton, Carlos Cuellar, Alex Rae, Andrew Shinnie (?), Steve Davis, Barry Ferguson and Peter Lovenkrands.
-
Jim Forrest?
Indeed it is. 1963 League Cup Final against Morton. His cousin Alex Willoughby got the other for Rangers in a 5-1 win. We went on to win the Treble.
Well done, Sir.
-
Is it Super Ally? Did he ever score four in a Glasgow Cup final?
Not McCoist, not sure that counts as a major Cup Final though.
-
Durie V's Hearts? Or did he just get 3?
Just 3
-
Jonathan Johansen?
Not Johansson
