  1. First of all how I know these stats is google, it's as easy as typing in "SPL table" use it you may find useful information about stuff and for everyones information I'm awaiting moderation to join a Celtic forum. I'm sure if any of you guys looked on it soon(TalkCeltic if you care) you'll see an identical thread. I think I've overstayed my welcome, I'll probably just go. Thanks to all the Rangers fans who gave me an honest opinion. Good luck for the rest of the year.
  2. Hi guys, thanks for some of the supportive comments even if I probably did get more abusive ones. I got to let people know that my reasoning behind my team selection is mainly based on the last three Old Firm games and maybe thats a little unfair but three games is a lot and I think its a just selection. I rarely watch any SPL besides Rangers v Celtic and the only other match I watched in recent times that wasn't Old Firm was Celtic v Aberdeen in the League Cup. I mean look at my point of view here and bear with me, Celtic have a higher goals for and a lower goals against record and until the weekend were unbeaten since October/November not sure which one. The only matches in the SPL I watch regularly are the Rangers v Celtic games. I've watched a few others but they usually involve the Old Firm. Maybe my view is a little skewed by stats and what little matches I watched outside the derby but thats just how I see it now. I read the match reports on the Daily Record. I don't understand why people seem to have odds with me for watching the SPL, a) its only just north of the border so its close to me whereas another league maybe like the Belgian league is a little more alien, b) as much as you guys would love to see Rangers win and win and win SPL year after year, for neutrals its dead boring. Scotland has an awful reputation around Europe as being a two horse race and well this year its so unpredictable and for a stage Hearts looked like they'd do well(if I'm honest I wanted them to win the SPL but it looks unlikely now) so you can point your fingers all you want, I've came on here and showed nothing but respect for your fine Football club and never once did I post derogatory remarks regarding your club.
  3. This didn't turn out as I expected, well sorry for wasting your time. Just wanted fans opinions on the matter.
  4. I never said I was backing Celtic, I said if I had to put my money on anyone it would be Celtic due to the momentum. And to someone who said that this has been a piss season, not if all you ever hear is Walter Smiths team battering Celtic for the past two years and before that Celtic battering Rangers. The fact of the matter is this has been a good year for SPL football, look at the players in both teams, while none would get in a top four team in the Prem League both teams most certainly have players who would stroll into any other team below them. Rangers are to be admired for their exploits in Europe.
  5. I had planned that actually and no doubt you'll see an identical thread posted in one of their forums as soon as I find a suitable one, I'm sorry I've offended you but I'm just saying what most neutrals think, I didn't slate Rangers there did I? I didn't say they had no chance either? the reality of the situation is that Rangers have a very thin squad with some great quality players no doubt, but Celtic have great quality too and I think you're very shortsighted if you can't see that, are Celtic a superior team? in my opinion yes, are they far superior? not a chance. I have revised my orignal three players to four I think you'll find Naismith instead of Brown and I never meant to cause offence so I apologise, if I was a Celtic fan would I not just take the piss and say Celtic are better at everything and Rangers are naff? I complimented Rangers on many points. nerve, guile and experience they have them in abundance over Celtic but Celtic have a huge squad with capable players coming in when one gets injured. But like a previous poster said Kayal is the workhorse of their team and they will struggle without him.
  6. Thats fair enough I suppose, the Old Firm have some hardcore fans who do like to wind each other up.
  7. Ok, sorry I'm just doing an honest assessment as I see it, I have no loyalties to the SPL, I've just taken a keen interest in it this year thats all. I mainly watch Prem League, Spanish and German football but the SPL has been a lot better this year am I not allowed to have an opinion? what struck you in that assessment that suggested I was a Celtic fan?
  8. I'll name my Old Firm select as I see it now. McGregor(absolute class, miles ahead of Forster) Wilson/Whittaker(kinda interchangeable once again, I think 9/10 I'd pick Whittaker but his recent form has been quite poor) Bougherra Rogne(really good young CB in my opinion) Izaguirre Naismith(forgot about him earlier, better than Brown) Kayal(really impressed, in my opinion he'll be the glue that will hold Celtics title bid together) Ledley/Davis (Davis has been off form this season whereas Ledley has been quitly efficient) Commons over Diouf because Commons has made a blazing start to his Celtic career Jelavic over Stokes mainly because he's a good player but also because Stokes is a twat Hooper(Good English striker there ) thats just my opinion guys. Its not law, we all differ.
  9. Would Rangers be able to afford Weiss? he'd be a good investment and his future at Man City(hate the c**ts) looks bleak.
  10. Sorry just my assessment, its more to do with current form and if you had asked me the same question at the start of the season it would have 3/4 Rangers.
  11. To be perfectly honest I thought he'd be decent in the SPL as he was pretty decent for us for a good while, it was only a fall out between him and Pulis that made him go.
  12. Forgot about Naismith, he's pretty good. Last year if I was asked the same question my Old Firm XI would be Rangers from start to finish, Celtic were mince last year.
  13. @simon ahh yeah Stoke are an interesting team, I'd say as a neutral they're dreadful to watch but the system works and we're still in the Premier League so I can't complain, if it ain't broke don't fix it eh? The draw was a bit dissapointing to be honest Davis is a very good player but in my opinion I rate Kayal higher, him and Ledley are interchangeable for me but Ledley has been more consistent than him this year so that is my thinking. Diouf..........well he's Diouf isn't he, good quality player but not a good quality human being unfortuneatly but I think Rangers were very shrewd in his signing though. Weiss is non existent one day and world class another, too inconsistent.
  14. To be perfectly honest I'm hoping for another cracking draw and hopefully extra time, you have no idea how good that cup game was for a neutral. Pretty entertaining stuff and even when Rangers looked on the back foot they still produced some great play on the counter. I think given the chances for both teams on that day a draw was pretty fair.
  15. Rangers have been pretty poor in the recent Old Firm games and isolating Commons and Izaguirre is key I think, they provide a real attacking threat for Celtic. I would imagine Samaras would start as he can use his pace and strength very well. Rangers need to keep Izaguirre pinned into his own half and that in turn will isolate Commons, how did you guys play against St Johnstone? was it a good performance?
