  1. Offering Little and Healy new contracts was just a bizarre decision for me. We already have three far better players in Jelavic, Naismith and Lafferty. Add to that we're actively looking for another stiker and probably stuck with Beattie for another year until his contract runs out, what the hells the point in extending Healy and Little's contracts if they're likely to be 6th and 7th choice. Can understand someone like McMillen being kept on as we're short defensively but those two just strike my as pointless.

Squad fillers. They're purely making up the numbers and instead of replacing them with equally average players, we've just extended their contracts. Look at our bench tonight. Asides from Hemmings who no-one knows much about, we're left with players who aren't going to change anything if brought on.

  2. I wouldn't call Wallace a back up left back, before tonight I said he'd have the left back spot no bother by Christmas, after tonight I reckon he will have made it his own by the middle of September

I can't see Sasa losing the spot he's made his own. Regardless of what Wallace does. If Wallace proves me wrong then fair play, I'll give you that one. :)

  3. We've got far too many "squad fillers". Broadfoot, Healy, Beattie, Fleck, Little, McCulloch etc. We haven't got enough top quality players. This quantity over quality nonsense is ridiculous. Spend 5 million on 3 top players and we'd be just fine! We could have Goodwillie and Cuellar for just over 4mil. Instead we're stuck with a 500k right winger (playing on the left), a back up left back and an American midfielder who isn't joining until January.

Let's start filling our squad with top players rather than filling our squad with average players to make up the numbers whilst we rely on Davis, Naismith and Jelavic to produce the goods!

  4. I started a thread on this over in FollowFollow and it lasted 2 pages, before it got chopped. Because this is so shocking and unbelievable no one believed me.

FollowFollow is full of idiots. Did they accuse you of being a taig? Sniff Sniff and all that.

You should have repaid the favour from the old bill and videoed them back. They don't like it but you're well within your rights.

  5. Can I ask if Terry Butcher hadn't played for Rangers and still have had the managerial career he's had would you want him as Rangers manager?

I said this in the deleted thread. As a Sunderland fan, I know EXACTLY what Butcher brings to the managerial table. And that is very little. He is to football management what David Healy is to our first team. Likeable character who's heart is in the right place but comes up short every time.

  6. McGregor's going nowhere.

Jelavic came to Rangers from rapid Vienna. You lot go on like he's came from Barcelona and won't accept anything less than a champions league semi final. We could reach the Champions League semi final. Should Chelsea offer big bucks for him, he'd go. Our European status plays no role in who offers what for Jelavic.

  7. Where did that happen?

Im not talking about jokes, im talking about people trolling her fans on youtube videos etc with vile comments

It's not like anyone reads comments on youtube videos anyway.

You're comparing comments made on youtube about a drug addict to comments made direct to a cancer victim about another cancer victim. Hartson and the young fella in question don't have a choice about their predicament.

  8. The Sun are stirring up shit by making articles like this

They obviously arent right minded posters. We are probably the only country in the world that have newspaper articles based on sick facebook, twitter or forum posts

Where is their article "sicko taunts over late Amy Winehouse"? because there are thousands online.

Comparing the tweets John Hartson received to the odd sikipedia joke about Winehouse is bloody ridiculous.

  9. I'd drop McCulloch and use him as back up to our centre halves. He's lacking in a football brain and looks totally lost on the ball. Which is the last thing you need for someone who's meant to hold some sort of responsibility in pulling the strings in the heart of our team. However, he does possess a physical edge. Which can be handy for a centre half. Wouldn't be first choice but if I had to choose between Jig and bombscare Broadfoot I'd choose McCulloch all day long.

Edu just shites himself at first sign of anyone criticising him and/or the team. He then retreats into his shell and can be deemed useless from that moment on.

  10. every word of it healy done nothing last year oh so who crossed the ball in against sporting lisbon in the 2-2 game in the last minute and also we need mcculloch and edu in the middle of a 5-4-1 cos we need hard hitting players then get naisy and davis to roam the midfield. also whittaker does not think he is ronaldinho and we all know hes a shit right back but ur just jumpin on the band wagon of every body else is on ortiz was shit as well jelavic was shit no word bout them was there not

Are you suggesting that Healy deserved a new deal purely because he set up a goal in a cup competition that we ended up out of 1 round later?

  11. He and Ortiz were the only midfielders to take the ball forward tonight.

Edu did once, but that;s because he didn't look up and ran into 3 white shirts.

Yes. That's because Ortiz and Davis are direct, forward thinking midfielders. Edu and Jig aren't. 2 attack and 2 defensive midfielders is how we appear to line up but Jig and Edu get abuse for, at times, just doing their jobs. They're designed to keep the ball or play the easy ball. Too many people expect both Edu and McCulloch to bomb on when in position. Edu seems to fall for the pressure of 50k at Ibrox though and tends to attempt the odd ball that isn't in his make up. Cue further complaints that he's just given the ball away when it sails out of play. It's up to Ally to punt Edu or McCulloch if we're behind and in need of a bit more forward thinking midfielders.

We need 1 centre midfielder who will look to get beyond the front two from time to time. Davis is your man but I'm not convinced Ally is keen to shift Davis into centre midfield and prefers having the security of two defensive midfielders.

  12. He's the only one of the three who has the gonads to actually take responsibility on the ball.

It's been said on here already tonight, but as per usual, McCulloch and Edu ran up their own arses as soon as the chips were down. Even when they were actually forced to take the ball, they couldn't get rid of it quick enough.

That has never been a factor in Davis' game and that's why he'll get my backing.

Fair enough but running about won't get us anywhere. He's still a top player but from time to time, his performance (quality wise, not work rate wise) is lacking. He was as guilty as anyone tonight with his poor set pieces and weak delivery. The Blackpool friendly showed exactly what he is capable of.

  13. Davis is one of the untouchables. No matter how many corners he pings off the first defender's head, no matter how many times he fails to hit his target with a 40 yard crossfield ball, no matter how many games he goes without scoring, it'll ALWAYS be Jig's or Edu's fault when he doesn't perform.
