  1. Sadly not, although his wife is still living. Never heard of Freddie Boyce Band. Were they an accordion band? We are waiting for a new batch to arrive, you can pre-order from our online shop. Anyone wanting a ticket can purchase them on our shop for only £12.50 - For a 3 Course meal and Entertainment, where else would you get that?
  2. Yep sadly that is all, we've lost a good few bands over the last 15 years. I've heard the W&M Acc Band mentioned by a few of our older members.
  3. If it's the same guy i'm thinking of, then his grandchildren are still in the band now.
  4. We haven't done Glasgow's Boyne Celebration's for around ten years, as we are engaged by the County Grand Lodge of Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and Argyle which usually falls on the same day as Glasgow. The Charlie Band folded about 2 or 3 years ago, We've only got the following band left with in the Scottish Accordion Band Association: Airdrie Argyle, Lanarkshire Bellshill Britannia, Lanarkshire - New Band formed this month, membership of SABA may not be approved yet. Crown Accordion Band, Dreghorn Firhill Accordion Band, Glasgow Pride of Argyle, Glasgow Prince of Wales, Glasgow Queen Elizabeth, Glasgow Rangers Accordion Band, Glasgow Thornliebank Amateurs, Glasgow I blame Murray and co for bending over backwards to appease the PC brigade.
  5. Thanks Dennis, should be a good night, tickets are going really fast! Unfortunately the powers that be won't allow it, as we are deemed unacceptable in this day and age. Thanks, I think we will be back in there in the near future.
  6. Rangers Accordion Band 55th Anniversary Dinner Dance & Cabaret Tradeston Ex-Serviceman's Club Beech Road, Glasgow Friday 11th May 2012 7.15pm (First Course 7.30) Tickets are only £12.50 and can be purchased from our online shop We are the Rangers Accordion Band from the Ibrox area of Glasgow. We have been parading all over Scotland and beyond since the formation of the band back in 1957 by the late Mr Robert Weatherall and a small group of family and friends. The band was formed to provide musical accompaniment to the Loyal Orders on parade. Throughout the years the band has taken part in hundreds of parades and other events all over the British Isles as well as in the United States & Canada. Today the band takes part in various parades including the Annual Boyne Celebrations and Church Parades held by the Loyal Order's. We also take part at local community events such as the Blackridge, Westrigg & Westcraigs Gala Day in West Lothian The band are also very proud of our past connection with Rangers Football Club, which seen us make official Records and play at Ibrox Park on numerous occasions - including the day we led them round the pitch with the European Cup Winners Cup.
