  1. Today was a statement of defiance against those who are determined to bring us down.

I said similar in a previous post. And it doesn't look as if "they" are about to let sleeping dogs lie. It doesn't seem to have penetrated their collective skulls that all they are doing is making Rangers stronger. The best way to burst the Rangers bubble would be to just let this petty vindictiveness go and just get on with things. But the SFA will no doubt haul Green up for something he said today and the net result will be yet more Bears getting roused to show their support for the club.

  2. It was a bit embarrassing in the end. Not sure that the linesman made much of a fuss about it ... I gather from the radio that it was the fourth official that notified the referee. Pardew seemed highly embarrassed during his interview and well he might ... if you're heading for a ban at least get it for something worthwhile and not some sissy push.

  3. It is a magnificent attendance and it does great credit to the fanbase of Rangers. But it also clearly illustrates the degree to which those who would seek to destroy Rangers have not only failed miserably, but have arguably made Rangers stronger. The Rangers "family" is now largely united against common enemies. Although clearly not intended, Regan and Doncaster might end up having done the Gers a massive favour. That, more than anything else, will leave them, if this Englishman can borrow one of your Scottish words, greetin' (did I get it right?).

  4. I can jump to that conclusion because it is clear in the article. How many times has Ally stated that first and foremost he is a supporter of the club? Almost every interview, and so therefore, questions unanswered from a fans perspective are questions he will hold himself. I have yet to see an article or interview where Ally's support for Green appears unwavering. He is not at that stage, he clearly is not 100% convinced, yet.

This would be the same Ally McCoist who declared he would buy a season ticket "in a heartbeat"? I still don't see how you have jumped to the conclusion that McCoist is suspicious based on that article. Nothing in it hints at personal concerns on the part of McCoist.

  5. Clearly Ally has asked questions and not received a satisfactory response on all issues. Considering what the club/fans and the manager have been through I think it is fair to say Ally is suspicious.

I really don't see how you can jump to that conclusion. It is quite clear that McCoist is equating season ticket sales with the fans' concerns and not any that he himself may harbour. Moreover, as he states an expectation that sales will increase it is hard to justify an assertion that McCoist himself has any concerns.

  6. I think you just have to remember the expectation of Malcolm Murray that there will be big changes in Scottish football sooner rather than later. I'd be very surprised if the status quo as it exists today is still in existence when it comes time to talk about Rangers rejoining the top flight.

  7. Leaving aside John Brown and his utopia vision, what about that other blowhard Brian Kennedy ... he of the "blood on their hands" outburst when his final offer of Mini-Murray's last Rolo was turned down by Duff and Phelps?

  8. Nailing Murray will prove far more difficult.

I'd have thought nailing Sir David Murray would be nigh on impossible, if regulations governing liquidation mandate that an investigation can only go back three years. Murray resigned near enough three years ago and for several years prior his leaving the club was paying down the debts. Murray's profligacy was well in the past.

  9. Let the battle commence !!! WATP I love being a Ger .

These clowns who tried to kill us off will be wishing they finished the job . We are an angry monster and set to destroy everything in our path. By the time we are back up we shall be wealthy and healthy. These bastards are going to wish they never treated us in the manner they did.

The battle doesn't commence yet ... this is where you build alliances and strength. Rangers does not yet face its enemies and, aside from possible cup ties, won't this season. The SFL and Division Three has welcomed the Gers and the clubs in that division are there to be wooed. Let places like Berwick see the positives of Rangers ... if, in these difficult times you are able, follow the team, spend money in the boozers, local shops and generally convey a positive image. Rangers is a mighty club, but it never does any harm to have one or two friends in low places.

  10. I think this is a massive opportunity for Rangers to totally transform both its fortunes as a club and its perception across Scotland. Much talk in the last six months about the hatred towards Rangers, but starting with Division Three here is the opportunity to challenge that and to make a few friends. This must be the beginning of a massive PR offensive in terms of both the club and its supporters ... show your best face and let people compare and contrast that with the sneering arrogance and petty vindictiveness of those wearing hoops.

  11. The Wall Street Journal is part of Rupert Murdoch's empire of darkness ... still, a well-written piece.

    Likened, yes.

The major difference is that those banks were saved by the taxpayer and we, well, weren't.

Well, HBoS was saved by a combination of Lloyds TSB and the taxpayer, which is, of course, how Lloyds came to be part of the demise of Rangers FC plc.

  12. We don't have an extradition treaty with Monaco, and white collar criminals sure as fuck don't do 99 years even if they kill five people on their way out the door from bankrupting the place.

Has the extradition treaty signed in 1939 been abrogated?

  13. If SKY really do want the scum in the EPL along with the mighty Rangers then this is one sure way to do it.

Do they have the cojonas to kill Scottish football in order to improve the value of their key product (English Football) ?

I would say they probably do actually.

To a degree Sky and the EPL are mutually dependent, which means Sky don't have the same degree of leverage over the EPL as they have over other sports. Sky is not able to dictate to the EPL. Heck, they couldn't even keep Rangers in the SPL nevermind shoehorn them and Celtic into the EPL.

  14. When you think about it, there probably aren't that many cities in the world that have multiple sporting stadia capable of holding more than 50,000 people. For example, I can't think of too many in even a city as large as New York, where both major NFL franchises share the recently built MetLife Stadium (in New Jersey). Indeed, the largest stadia in the States are often orientated to college sports. I think the two largest stadiums in the States belong to the University of Michigan (in the city of Ann Arbor, where the population is only slightly larger than the stadium's 109,000 capacity) and Pennsylvania State University.
