  1. INVERNESS CT CHAIRMAN KENNY CAMERON

"There will now inevitably be serious consequences for the game in Scotland.

"We have all, as clubs, accepted the views of our stakeholders in making the initial judgement to uphold sporting integrity.

Such breathtaking ignorance. You wanted sporting integrity for the SPL, but you want the SFL to ignore it to save your club from the consequences of sporting integrity. Shameful, utterly shameful.

  2. Di stefani on italkfm saying £50 million has been stolen from rangers . Rangers plc is still alive and Craig whyte laundered money through it . He's claiming it still possible for rangers to stay in the spl as it was illegally put in adminastration . Hope these aren't rants of a mad man and are valid points

I don't think he can be right in saying that it was "illegally put into administration" ... it was a court that put Rangers into administration.

  3. Even without a source it's not an unreasonable assumption. All the talk has been of SPL II being dead in the water, which leaves the only alternative, since Doncaster and Regan are both of the view that Rangers outside the top two divisions means armageddon, is the SPL clubs reviewing and changing their decision.

  4. Whilst I voted both top options, I think it's much to early to assume that the matter is over - I don't believe for one moment that it is.

Regan and Doncaster are, no doubt, at this very moment considering their next moves, and I suspect they will not be good news for Rangers.

I hope we will be permitted to 'get on with it' in Div 3, but I just don't think so!

I won't vote as I'm not technically "one of you" (Newcastle supporter), but I think you're right ... this is far from over. I expect the SPL to now be told to reconsider its vote.

  5. HMRC's policy announcement did stipulate that liquidation would allow them to fully investigate what had been going on. I'm not going to pretend to understand why that wouldn't have been possible if a CVA had been accepted - it seems that acceptance of a CVA would have facilitated some people being able to wash their hands and walk away from any recriminations.

A CVA ends administration and brings Whyte's shareholding in to play ... potentially any deal for Whyte's shares might involved a quid pro quo of not looking to closely into his involvement in Rangers and end the litigation. Subsequent to the CVA being voted down his key lieutenant Gary Withey appears to have changed sides and now Collyer Bristow and others are pursuing Whyte.

  6. To be honest, I think HMRC blocking the CVA may ultimately prove to be a good thing in the end. Of course, I am not technically "one of you" (not a Taig either, just a humble Newcastle supporter interested in the extraordinary goings-on), so an emotional attachment to the OldCo is not there. But liquidation of the OldCo ought to bring a full investigation by BDO of what went wrong at Rangers and provide closure. An end to the rumour and speculation, just a simple this is what happened.

  7. I hear you. But I hark back to Walter saying that just before he stood down that the club were "in better shape financially than they had been in a long time". Any way you slice it, the HMRC's 11th hour announcement that their policy regarding CVA's meant that regardless of what was in the pot in terms of pence in the pound, they couldn't accept it and allow the club to move out of administration was fucking stinking. Rangers could and should have been allowed to implement a CVA and begin their recovery. Financial stability could then have been recovered again over time. From that point of view they weren't insolvent. There's shit that's gone on that we'll never know about fully, and maybe yer man Di Stefano is onto something. I just think he's a mad wolf though. Talking about a corporate shell playing in a newly built stadium in the English leagues is pure pie in the sky. Nutcase.

A CVA would have allowed OldCo Rangers to emerge from the insolvency event, but it would not mean that OldCo Rangers was never insolvent.

  8. how would the world cope without the valubale information & opinion of alex thomson

Somewhat surprisingly, no mention of what someone was drinking. It usually starts off one of his "blogs". For example, "... was chatting with so-and-so over a rather splendid cappuccino ..." or "... just got off the phone with an ebullient Craig Whyte who was enjoying a rather fine glass of red by the harbour in Monaco ...". Come on, Alex, spill the beans ... what were they drinking?

  9. I've been reading these tweets. He does have a point about Rangers not having been insolvent ...

I'm not convinced about that. I guess it depends if you buy into the whole conspiracy theory involving Duff and Phelps, who stated quite clearly in their response to the BBC's "conflict of interests" revelations that on appointment as administrators it was clear that the club was in a major insolvency event.

  10. So does this mean the Old Co will still be around until at least 2013 ?

Does anyone know if this has any impact on the criminal investigation that's meant to be happening right now ? Anyone know what's going on with that ~ haven't seen anything since they announced it.

I don't think liquidating the OldCo will be a speedy process and nor do I think any of this will impact on the criminal investigations.

  11. My apologies mate, I have been reading tabloids and the been for far to long its sticking in my head. Still oldco Rangers has over £20mil of debt, surely he would take this on if he bought it?

He would be taking on liabilities of up to £135 million. The tabloids and other media outlets use the term "up to" so that they can use the £135 million figure knowing that some will miss its significance.

  12. So its definitely the "company", rather than the club itself?

That'd be a nice xmas pressie, don't you think?

Any monies raised would go to the creditors. And as the date in October has been vacated and a new date for sometime in 2013 looks likely, it won't be resolved in time for this Christmas. The club, however, is now in the hands of Sevco and the winding up of the old company should have little impact, other than, one hopes, to clarify to supporters exactly what went on during Whyte's takeover of the club and subsequent tenure as owner ... SDM, I would imagine, will be in the clear. But that's just my opinion.

  13. Isn't the whole crux of the case that the money belongs to Rangers Football Club?

The crux of the case appears to be that Whyte's "fraudulent" takeover of the club derailed a proposed £26 million injection of cash via a share issue underwritten by Mini-Murray and his backers. Thus, Collyer Bristow and Rangers FC Group stand accused of having deprived the company of £26 million. That's my understanding of the case, anyway.

  14. If Di Stefano is going to offer Green to purchase the oldco and merge the two back now that FA membership is confirmed that would be very clever.

However HMRC have said they wanted the oldco liquidated in order to persue Murray and Whyte so there's no way he would be successful in buying the oldco surely?

His thinking seems to be very confused. He seems to believe that he can purchase the OldCo and exit Administration sans a CVA and then subsequently pay off the creditors out of the huge profits made from playing in the English league system. I doubt that anyone is taking him very seriously.

  15. Oh right. I thought that was the newco name, was getting a bit confused there haha.

The original plan was to rename Sevco as "The Rangers", but seemingly no one noticed that the "The" was part of the OldCo name ... I could be mistaken but I think Sevco is struggling to come up with an alternative company name.
