It might actually be prudent to admit defeat in the btc and ask for the biggest penalty knowing fine well that they only gona pay out so much anyway, if hmrc were willing to deal at X pence in pound then this could take the casting vote from ticketus. There was a stushie (what a word) regarding payment of a table at one of the rst dinners. I understand that the table was booked in the name of ff ,and the cheque bounced, it's common knowledge that it took 18 months to finally settle this discrepancy i.e the cheque that was not honoured at the bank or as what is more commonly know as a bounced/ dud cheque.
On that basis alone I believe that he should have been removed from his position as a board member from the rst. For the simple fact that anyone holding or looking to hold such a position of trust especially within a trust, should be beyond reproach.
As for anything else well I am afraid I cannot answer that as I have never been a member of ff or do I know or have ever been in the company of this man. My view is based solely on my information and understanding of the cheque issue. It leaves him open to be slaughtered by the press if he ever gets his wish to be involved in some sort of capacity within RFC(you may have noticed many posters have commented on this) The press will have him as someone who will always talk to them and one day when they have no further need of him will no doubt turn on him.
As for asking does he donate his fee form his numerous appearances on the tv as 'spokesman' for many thousands of Rangers fans (just for the benefit of GS that one
) to the Fighting Fund, well I happen to think that is a fair question to ask. After all he does various other fund raising for the Fighting Fund as for e.g the recent party after the recent OF game.There are statements from people within the trust, as to the very late and eventual payment of the Last Supper (well should have been)
