It's almost as if some people have been waiting for our first defeat? Childish doesn't even begin to describe them.
I'll be kind and say they're being ironic.
-
Hibs were very very lucky to win that. Both teams played a great game.
You can't win them all. Hibs wont either.
-
Interesting choice as most would go for ball as sitting midfielder though I think balls pace might help being in the back line.
Gut instinct is saying warburton won't change Halliday as the sitting midfielder though.
Ball has the pace and passing quality to be in midfield. I don't think Kiernan is suited to any position other than centre half.
-
No he shouldn't. New players coming in.
-
We played today in the way we'll play next week. Wouldn't say no to Ball in a holding midfield position, but I don't think Warburton will play as defensively as that.
-
He'll be on work experience.
-
The folk on here that think players can be out of the team for weeks and when called back in perform like a fucking superstar need to ponder before they type. Warburton appreciates him and that'll do me. The classic example is Barry McKay who was being spoken of in much the same way as Clarke.
Criticise when it's justified.

Quite apart from the kicking, there were times, especially in the second half, where I thought I was watching Rugby Union.

We still need a CF.
Preferably a big man with good feet. We need to add some variety to our attacks, a 'target man' would be a useful addition IMO.
This is a prerequisite for every Rangers signing. No bunions or corns allowed.
-
Ball could easily play a holding midfield role for Rangers, but who would you drop to accommodate him? I can certainly see him turning out in this position once the heavier winter conditions start cropping up especially if the injuries/suspensions start kicking in. Would this affect our attacking play? Ball can play both positions, but I think he would provide more protection for the two centre halfs than Halliday does. It's a tricky balancing act.

So, has warbutton lasted longer as a sacked manager at Brentford to see out the season, than his successor lasted in the job full time before being sacked himself? Lol.
Was Warburton sacked? I thought he left because the Brentford owner wanted the Team to be run in a different manner to the way Warburton wanted and that led to a parting of the ways.
More fool him.

Even though Dave Smith was gruesome commentating on Rangers TV recently, he was right about our centre half paring. You could see it in the third goal especially. They play far to square defensively. Beat one and you beat both of them. You would think D Weir should be coaching them out of this cluster fuck they exhibit?
-
In answer to OP. No it doesn't. It's the right way to play, we just need better players to play it at a higher level.
Especially in defence.

Some folk are so bitter man. Gough is a Rangers legend and is well suited and deserving of the role. He was one of the greatest Club captains the Club has ever had who cares who he backed in a boardroom battle?
You could be saying this about McCoist getting the managers job. No harm to Gough though.

I tend not to notice him during games, not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I am not convinced he does enough for the team to be honest. What is his actual contribution?
Folk used to say that about John White of Spurs and Scotland. It was a huge loss when he died prematurely. His absence was noted then.
Holt is that sort of player.

Do you have a more effective style in mind?
You always seem to be casting seeds of doubt about our ability to 'play good football' and also win - the two can go together.
Surprisingly enough high tempo, pressing and passing football where we retain the bulk of possession and create a load of chances brings success.
That's much more likely to be successfully than say, for example, going long from defence (and totally bypassing the midfield) towards slow forwards than can't jump.
Bluepeter9 prefers the Ally McCoist hump it up the park style of football. Basically he is saying winning at all costs is to be preferred to Warburton's philosophy. I've popped in a few posts since I joined RM pointing out that McCoist's philosophy didn't include the need to entertain ethos, that Warburton's undoubtedly does. It's astounding that he still obliquely agrees with McCoist's approach to running a football team.
Playing good football and entertaining the fans must always be the number one priority at a Club like Rangers and we should hold onto Warburton like grim death, because this is what he strives to do.
McCoist was a failure as a coach and manager. A pity that there are some that can't accept that and move on.

The commentator on Rangers TV said the Ref had sent of a player in his last five matches. Why did he fail to send Hippolyte off yesterday?
-
How our Manager couldn't cope with changed circumstances any more than the support could. Three wasted years, that we're only now recovering from.
-
£32k allegedly
Sinky bought a lot of young players for a lot of money and they all sank without trace. Good nickname he had. Lets hope the coach in charge now is more worldly wise? Mulhollands call? or hopefully higher up.

Might be wrong but I'm sure we just bought mcpake from hibs

Mmm, nah.
With you on this subject. Couldn't give a fuck about the Scotland team. Once the eventual rodent clean out at the SFA takes place, maybe then. Maybe not even then.
Not even aware they're playing half the time as I don't watch terrestrial TV or read the Sports in the rags, apart from Rangers. A total blackout of anything anywhere apart from The Rangers.
Dropped Sky Sports and told them why. The cheeky bugger told me Rangers 'had to be punished'.
Fuck the lot of them. Forgivenes isn't in me for what they did.

Am I the only one feeling a sense of superiority for sticking with us through the tough times?
If you were one of the one 11,190 at the home cup game vs Clyde (8-1) last season then give yourself a pat on the back from me!
What if we had 50k turning up week after week and watching Super Ally's shite football philosophy staggering from game to game right to the bitter end. Who knows Super Ally might still be the Manager and 5 or six points behind already, if that 50k had kept turning up through thick and thin. No doubt you would have been wanting to give Ally till fucking Christmas.
The folk that got rid of Ally were those that gave up attending, not those like you that kept going through misplaced loyalty.
Away and lie on your ribs.

61 - 62 Scottish Cup Final V St Mirren.
Memories are pretty hazy now. I was 14 at the time.

Who is responsible for that caption under the pic?
'Rangers winger Barry McKay shined under Mark Warburton'
Give me fucking strength
Stuck out like a sore thumb. To me, at any rate, it should be 'shone'.
Players We Could Not Afford (Supposedly )

Jim Baxter was bought in by Rangers as 'promising' among five or six other young players. They didn't pay very much for him and he was eventually recognised as being one of the best signings they've ever made.
He was.
