  1. Mark my words....Boyd either this summer or the next will be signed by a Championship club for around £2 million as that is his level. He can bang them in against St.Johnstone etc but when it comes to playing teams in the Champions League or the EPL?...he would be way out of his depth...he can even get himself in shape! I may be in the minority, but I would not at all be bothered if Walter told Boyd he has no future at the club.
  2. The fact that the only club really interested in buying him is Cardiff tells you all you need to know. Clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Milan, Barcelona etc would never ever sign him as he has no skill or footballing talent other than poaching goals from 4 yards out, which is mostly good enough for the SPL, but he would and does get found out when playing against decent defences. No top half EPL club would sign him and to be honest I doubt any EPL club would sign him as he simply does not have the talent to play at the top level. In a Premiership game, the amount of times he would be caught offside would verge on the ridiculous. He is no Ally McCoist either....McCoist was far faster, had a far better touch and could pass a ball and link up to a reasonable degree. Same goes for Mols before his injury - now he was a class striker with bags of ability and he could play well against the top teams. I would keep him though as we play in the SPL so a good SPL striker is what we need....but games against top European teams? he just isn't close to good enough to play against these types of teams. A lot of EPL clubs are interested in our top players but none are interested in Boyd....there is a very good reason for that!
  3. Why would celtic want Kris Boyd when they already have a similar but far superior player to Kris Boyd - Scott McDonald!
  4. your absolutly right randy, you know, what do all these fans know about football eh,who'd have ever have thought you'd need to score to win games. i think any club in the world(obviously a fair few exception)would take a player who bangs in goals for fun Liverpool, Man Utd and Spurs would never ever dream of signing a player like Kris Boyd. Anybody who thinks so must be genuinely Insane in the Membrane!
  5. If Davis is such a talented player...then why do Fulham want rid of him? He looked very very average to me.
  6. Who cares what one fan out of millions thinks? In my own experience, at least 90% of football fans don't know their arses from their elbows when it comes to the game!
  7. like.... the season just gone? We came very very close to winning the league. Walters first season back was a huge suceess when you consider the position we were in when he arrived. He closed the gap with celtic from a massive gap to the league going to the last day of the season. I do agree that Boyd does score goals, but he offers nothing else which means the games he doesn't score in are basically played with 10 men. You can see from his touch/control/pace that he is not up to much as a footballer. Put it this way - what EPL clubs do you think would want him in their team? Probably none. If he does move it will be to the Championship as he simply has no technical ability.
  8. Mark my words - with Boyd out of the picture you will see a much faster deadlier strike force. Yes, we may only beat East Fife in the CIS Cup 3-0 instead of 6-0 without Boyd...but we will be able to go to Pittodrie/Parkhead and get 1-0 or 2-1 wins wheras with Boyd there is little chance of that happening. Anyone can see that Boyd is a very very limited player. No pace or technical ability.
  9. bit Novo and Prso both complimented each others game. Boyd can not do anything like that, he can't pass or create chances for his partner...he has one ability - scoring goals from around 10 yeards...he has no ability for link up play as seen by the amount of times he gets caught offside. He is basically the adult version of the guy at school who got called a "lazy poacher"!
  10. I don't understand this obsession with Kris Boyd. Yes his stats are superb, but since he has been at the club we have won nothing (apart from a few cups). Novo and Prso had far inferior strike rates bit that combo won us the league. We have seen all that Boyd has to offer - yes he can get the goals against poor-average teams - but against any organised decent team he is useless. For example, his strike rate is up there with Larssons, but we all know that Larsson was a far far superior player so the stats don't tell the full picture. He is slow, lazy, has very questionable fitness, a poor first touch, no skill and if he does not score then you have basically played a game with 10 men. We cannot rely on Kris Boyd...it just doesn't work. It is obvious he is not going to add anything to his game as he has been here for 2.5 seasons and he is the same player as the day he joined. His superb strike rate has got us nowhere and we need to look elsewhere as Boyd is not the answer.
  11. So far so good if you ask me - Kenny Miller - very hard worker who performed well under Walter for Scotland. Scored 6 goals for Derby which is not bad considering the whole team only scored 20 goals all season and were the amount of chances he got was few and far between. On top of that, he will give it his all to win the fans over and although his strike rate may not be amazing (although he may bang in lots of goals) he will certainly add far more as a team player than the likes of Kris Boyd. The fact that he used to play for celtic is irrelevant to any intelligent fan. Velicka - always impressed by him when he was at Hearts. Had an excellent strike rate for the clubs he has played for (including Hearts) and is a tough player who can handle the SPL as he has already proved he is tough enough for the SPL. Kyle Lafferty - young impressive player who has shown his ability at international level. Is a Rangers man and for his age has done very very well. We may have paid over the odds but as long as he adds ability to the team then that won't really matter. Players sold - Sebo, Gow - both had no future at the club so that's a bonus £1 million. So far the squad is now stronger than last season. Still lots of players to come and go but things so far are looking quite good is you ask me. There is no point in dreaming about fancy Euro 2008 players - as a club we cannot afford these players wages nor can we attract them to the club as right now we are the 2nd team in Scotland with no guaranteed Champions League football and any EPL club can easily outbid us for any player that looks good at Euro 2008 - so we will have to make do with getting the best players we possibly can within our restrictions.
  12. Why are you calling me timmy? Is that your standard reply to someone who disagrees with you? I think you will find most Bears will agree with me that in terms of PR celtic are miles ahead of us. I check lots of forums and many fans around the UK class Rangers fans as thugs whilst celtic fans are seen as angels. This of course drives me nuts, but the reason celtic get away with it and we don't is because of their far better PR. As a club they know how to handle the media and have the media in their back pocket.
  13. Reading the original post - I couldn't help but think of that Hovis advert with the wee boy and the bike!
  14. but 99% of the UK population know nothing about Torbett or Seville stabbings wheras our reputation is now on the line and tarnished on every newspaper sold in the UK as well as on TV. Don't fool yourself, timmy is the master of the media....everyone I talk to in England who does not know much about Scottish football seems too think celtic fans are far far better behaved than Rangers fans and they think this because timmy knows how to handle the media. In terms of PR we are miles behind celtic.
